This is actually a film coming out in July......a kids movie :worry:

Just when you thought it couldn’t get harder to protect your children from adult content, Hollywood presents a new talking dog movie ‘Show Dogs’. Due for release in Australian movie theatres in July, coinciding with school holiday time, this movie is raising the most liberated eyebrows with its thinly veiled grooming theme.

Max the talking police dog is sent undercover as a show dog. To fulfil his mission and win the competition, Max must submit, albeit unwillingly, to having his private parts fondled by his partner so that he gets used to it, and then by the judge who is a complete stranger.

The underlying storyline throughout this disturbing film is that sometimes you just have to submit to having your private parts touched in order to get where you want to get. Sounds very similar to women submitting, albeit unwillingly, to being groped by powerful men in order to get the role #MeToo. Except this is a child’s movie!

In the final scenes of ‘Show Dogs’ when the audience is waiting and watching to see if Max will retain his dignity or will submit to having his private parts touched for the sake of the prize, the judge’s hands reach… and Max, in a classic coping mechanism understood by anyone who has been abused, goes to his “zen place”. In his mind, while being fondled, he flies through the sky, dances with his partner, there are fireworks, flowers, happiness, set to the pop song “Sexy and I Know It” – all while his private parts are being touched by a stranger - something he dreaded and did not want under any circumstances. How this was included in a kids talking dog movie is beyond comprehension.

The message we want our children to hear, whether overt or even subliminal, is that they can say no! and that you do not have to let bad things happen to you, or let people touch you, just because someone tells you so, or to get a prize! If there was ever a time when it was ok to use the phrase “can someone please think of the children” it is now.

This is just what i need, I was too stupid to teach this to my kids and i was looking for a dog cock type film vehicle to do it for me

Is inspecting a dogs privates a normal part of dog shows then? If it is then the comparison to #MeToo is a bit iffy

The film sounds more like a pedophile grooming movie than a talking point for #metoo.

Another thinly cloaked attempt at undermining the - already decaying - moral fabric of Western Society but an even sicker more perverse vehicle than usual.

EVERYONE connected with this utter vomit should be flogged and then jailed - including whichever bodies sanctioned its screening.

And NO, I am not joking and I could not care less for any lectures about 'OTT reaction' or 'violence is not the answer' or any other liberal B.S.

It sounds like they executed an important message terribly. Annoyingly, I’m probably going to watch the movie to decide for myself.

I’m really quite confused by this - why would film companies be trying to promote sexual abuse to children and why would the powers that be condone it? It makes no sense.

It SOUNDS as if they have executed EXACTLY the important message which they intended.

Whichever way you interpret the final scene, be it a 'coping mechanism' as Niamh proposes, where Max uses abstraction to anaesthetize himself from the horrific reality of being sexually abused, or whether the film's creators WANTED to impart to naive young minds that having one's genitals fondled is absolutely THE most pleasant experience ever, hence the flying, fireworks, flowers and 'happiness' - ALL appealing elements to a child - this film is nothing but perversion sinisterly housed inside a 'Trojan Horse' of a 'Children's Movie'.

I have no need to have seen it. The synopsis alone is iffy and I HAVE researched further into this and found the OP as being a fair assessment of the film.

Had this been an ADULT ONLY film I would still have elected NOT to see it, but would not have objected to it.

As it is, it is NOT an adults Only film but is being DELIBERATELY targeted at children.

After thinking about it for a day though, im assuming the movie doesnt end there, and there is some sort of epiphany/realisation that the dog shouldnt have gone through with it - and the moral of the story is clear to viewers?
