How early do you pack?

If you are going on a trip/holiday how early do you pack for it and are you usually well prepared or do you just go with the flow?

I am visiting Ireland next week and I don't have anything packed or planned yet. I am going for 13 days with just a carry-on bag, I don't know how I'm going to manage that.

Usually a day or two beforehand when it’s going home, when I went on holiday last year I started a couple of weeks beforehand bc I just KNEW there’d be something I’d forget if I didnt

Calderyon 27-05-2018 06:53 PM

Night before.

AnnieK 27-05-2018 06:56 PM

I usually pack literally just before I go but I will have the stuff I am taking all together but just don't put it into a case until just before I am due to leave to try and minimise creasing. If I have a very early flight I'll do it last thing before going to bed

I usually just leave my suitcase open in the corner of the room and put clothes and accessories in it over the course of a couple of weeks until it's full. I can't pack all at once in case I end up needing something out of it, and I can't pack the night/day before purely because I'll feel as though I've forgotten something.

I'm leaving for New York this Friday and I've yet to start :worry:

I will tomorrow though.

I make a thorough 'Hit List' of everything I need at least a week before I'm due to depart so it gives me time to add to it if I remember anything else.

I work out full outfits which I might wear for each day - according to what type of a trip it is that I'm going on.

I've always found that proper preparation pays off in every facet of life. It suits
me, anyway.

For holidays I pack a few days before, hate being in a rush. Also, as I travel quite a bit for work I have a bag permanently packed with essentials and just pack some clothes before I go.

Usually the night before or that day if the flight isn't too early. It's great because now my youngest is 14, i only have to pack my own bag again, liberation

this I know what I am taking and it is all washed and ready but just not in the case

I start packing three nights before the trip, and finish the night before, sometimes the morning of the day if my flight departs at night...

Glenn. 28-05-2018 11:51 AM

Or ally a couple of days before. I’m going away next week and I’ve got the case in my room ready to start. Got to buy all new because I’m a weight losing champion.

If it is a long holiday I usually get new clothes so I pack them as I buy them but if it is for a weekend away or a dance comp either the day of or night before.

armand.kay 30-05-2018 06:44 PM

I literally packed for my holiday last year 2 hours before leaving

Jay28jay2 30-05-2018 06:48 PM

I plan what i'm going to take and wear for what day, then pack everything on the night before or same day depending on the time I leave

andybigbro 30-05-2018 06:49 PM
