Who's the More Undeserving Winner, Anthony or Pete?

Pete for me tbh. I know Anthony is universally Hated on this forum and his win is considered to be the only downfall of bb6, But at least he contributed to two major Story lines and he got into a few arguments.

Whereas with Pete he coasted all the way to the final, Hardly receiving that much nominations. He was a very Predicable winner. Since Day 1 when he fell down the stairs everyone knew he was gonna win, Even his fellow HMs. They might as well have given him the 100 grand and not even bothered with the series.

So while Anthony may not have been the Biggest Character of 6, At least he remained somewhat Relevant due To Makosi and Craig.

Anyway who do you think is more Undeserving?

RileyH 28-05-2018 12:40 PM

They're both great :nono:

I liked them both too, But i'm asking who's more Undeserving. Not who's the worst.

RileyH 28-05-2018 12:43 PM

Most of the Forums usually rank them Amongst the worst and Undeserving Winners.

Antony was awful

DouglasS 28-05-2018 12:47 PM

Pete is a great winner. Anthony was alright, and so I voted for him.

The most undeserving winner for me is Helen, closely followed by Chloe.

Cal. 28-05-2018 12:49 PM

Anthony was a deserving winner. He put with so much **** from Makosi and Craig.

Yeah Helen by far, she literally got a Pass to the Final and thanks to that her fans hadn't spent much money to save her/evict others and were able to get her to win.

Anthony, the teenage girl vote and favourite to win at the time Eugene taking half the prize fund two days before the finale were the main reasons leading to Anthony’s win.

I also think if Kinga was chosen by Makosi and entered the house on Day 32, plus if Makosi managed to sustain her popularity before Pregnant gate, Anthony would’ve been kicked out as 3rd or 4th place in the finale, or may even have been the surprise evictee on Day 76, who knows?

Pete was actually entertaining in the first weeks so he kind of deserved to win, but the true winner of BB7 is Aisleyne...

Sam Evans

Otherwise known as the worst winner of any reality show ever broadcast

I literally can’t think of anything about him besides his little thing with Jemima at the begining... :skull:

Both awful and made relevant by crazy people, any other bland male would have had the same effect on Makosi, Craig and Nikki and Lea.

Anthony is probably worse because he was an awful person

Mystic Mock 04-06-2018 10:10 AM

Both were terrible winners imo, but Pete for me had one fundamental problem more than Anthony, and that was his year wasn't a competition, Pete was the favourite to win since night one and despite some questionable behaviour from him throughout the series he still went on and won by a comfortable margin, and to me Housemates like that are the worst.

Epic. 04-06-2018 10:19 AM

Pete is such an underrated winner. He was so prevalent throughout BB7 and was always bringing new storylines to the table every week, in addition to that a naturally funny and lovely bloke. And objectively, he was the biggest character of BB7 aside from Nikki and Aisleyne.

Anthony I would pick as far more undeserving, even though I still think he gets a bit too much hate. While he wasn't that interesting and it's tragic that he won over rather likely winners like Derek, Science and Kemal, it still can be argued that his win felt like it was built up to. Once Science left and especially after Kemal left, the last few weeks were more or less the Anthony and Craig saga. Also it's symbolic that the series was won by the person who had to put up with the two most unhinged and deceptive housemates of their cast (Makosi, Craig) in a cast full of already unhinged and deceptive personalities. (Also Anthony stopped Eugene from winning which would've been infinitely worse since the series would've been won by a dull unfunny waste of a housemate and the only one to bring nothing of note to BB6.)

Overall though I wouldn't call either 'undeserving'. At worst I'd call Anthony a below average winner, but there have been plenty of winners in the show where it's made no sense and there was no rhyme or reason as to how or why they won. Like them or not, Anthony and Pete's wins do still make sense from a narrative point of view since their wins are arguably built up to.

.

I literally cannot think of an opinion I disagree more with. He wasn't even a big character AT ALL

Your argument is more about footage rather than what they did with the footage.

Anthony and Pete as individuals were incredibly dull people that were just lucky that they landed in dynamics where neurotic Housemates were involved that made them stand out a bit more.

Anthony was one thick tw@

I don't think the predictability of Pete's win makes him less deserving... that's not really a fault with him a housemate tbf. He was a predictable winner because the public adored him. I don't think the same can be said for Anthony. He was lucky there were a lot of hate figures in BB6 and that Eugene took half the prize fund and that people like Craig/Makosi created storylines for him. I sort of think of him as a default winner, rather than someone who won because they were loved. Whereas Pete had massive enduring popularity all the way through his series. It's only really him and Brian Dowling who have had that in the history of the show (I think?). He might not have been loud but he was central to a lot of the social dynamics throughout (with Lea/Nicky/Aisleyne/Lisa for example). Anthony's social influence didn't stretch very far and it was mostly with Maxwell/Saskia who I thought were awful and even then he was more of a follower. And his storylines... meh, I didn't find the him and Craig stuff as interesting as most seem to (Lea/Pete >). He did have some arguments but I can't think of a single one that was interesting  just 'having arguments' isn't really entertaining imo. And I just didn't think he was likeable, whereas I did Pete.

Oh and Pete had style, I know it's shallow lol but just aesthetically I liked looking at him and his fashion etc. So he gains a point there. And his attitude and outlook in life was great. Also didn't he call out Grace for picking on Aisleyne? So a great role model too! I've never actually been that much of a Pete fan but the more I think about it the more I like him

I agree with all of this :clap1: Aside from the Anthony and Craig part, that's still probably one of my favourite storylines of the whole show

Pete also called out Grace about her complaining about Sam within the first night too. And I know a lot of people had issue with this, but I was CACKLING when he was hiding inside the bathroom when Grace came back to the house because he was that terrified of her while she was all excited to speak to him again too :joker:

Oh I'd forgotten about Sam but yeah I remember him being great with her in general (Richard too tbf) when other people were being horrible. I don't mind the Craig/Anthony thing really, I think what puts me off is that I remember watching it and thinking 'Anthony's going to win because of this, isn't he!'... and at the time I didn't like Craig at all (although he's much better in retrospect and when I rewatched some of the series... still not a favourite though). But also, between Anthony and Eugene I really wanted Eugene to win (sorry I know how much you dislike him  ) so maybe I just resent the Anthony/Craig thing for preventing that lol.
I can't remember Pete hiding in the bathroom but that makes me like him even more :joker:

Pete was a smelly mess.

Pete's whole "if I don't win BB then god isn't real" shtick in the final week was nagl
