Opinions on Brian Dowling as a Big Brother host?
 

Brian never should have hosted the whole thing.

He does not suit a hosting job tbh, his style of hosting was too camp for my liking, which resulted in him coming off as a fake sometimes, and embarrassing viewing...

Thank god he got the cull and Emma replaced him, Emma should have hosted from the begining of the C5 era, she could fit the big shoes that Davina left more easily then Brian.

In fact, Davina even suggested that’d Emma take her place when it was announced that the show got renewed on C5...

He was ok, better than everyone makes out

It's not like Emma is much better (tho I like her a lot more)

Terrible

I’m just surprised it only took 3 Civilians and 4 CBBs before they made the Choice to Fire him.

He should have been sacked straight after CBB8

I honestly thought he was better than some made out

I don't dislike Brian but he was absolutely hopeless as the presenter of BB and i was very pleased when he was ousted.

I think he's underrated. He literally did fine in BB13. No complaints really.

Underrated. His messy moments were hilarious ("I'M RAPUNZEL!!") and I remember him doing brilliant interviews during BB13.

An embarrassment to the show.

he was really good at interviews (better than Emma and Davina tbh) but everything else was a disaster

So underrated. While he was far from perfect (RUNWAAAY) he was still a really lively host for better or for worse and people who hate on him forget his interviewing skills usually. Aside from the Tara Reid incident, he was great at challenging horrible people about their behaviour and he was exceptional about this with Bastard Becky and Cuntoline who were well deserving of critique. And maybe this is a cop out, but his more pointlessly OTT moments are ones I'm more inclined to blame the producers of the show for, since they would've obviously had to submit and approve how Brian would do hosting so it's likely he was given that ridiculously camp persona rather than coming up with it himself. If he was the BOTS host, he'd probably still have that job to this day because that's already meant to be an over the top and ludicrous show anyway, plus has a lot of interviewing which is what he was best at.

he was bad but i kinda want him back? like the show has gotten so truly awful that i feel like his presence would really work now?

He was embarrassing but it kinda made the live shows worth watching for the cringe factor?
