The Staircase (Netflix documentary series)

Anyone been watching this? I think it's the most addictive documentary I've watched since Making a Murderer

I'm about halfway through (episode six) and it's incredibly interesting.

Yeah, I watched it years ago when it was part of the BBC's Storyville series. I thought it was very interesting.

I mentioned it before here - http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...3&postcount=22

Apparently there have been more recent developments in the case...

Shaun 17-06-2018 03:29 AM

Ah I wasn't aware it had been on the BBC before, just knew about it being a Canal+ production that aired 10+ years ago.

They are making a TV drama series about this case with Harrison Ford.

Harrison Ford To Topline ‘The Staircase’ Series For Annapurna TV
By Erik Pedersen

November 21, 2019 11:23am

Harrison Ford will make his series-regular TV debut as star of The Staircase, a drama series from Annapurna TV based on the 2004 documentary series that Netflix began streaming last year. A source has confirmed to Deadline that Ford is attached to the project. Annapurna declined to comment.

The original docuseries focused on Michael Peterson, the author who was accused of murdering his wife in 2001. He claimed that she had fallen down the stairs in their home, but police investigated her death as a homicide and named him as their lead suspect.

The project is being shopped, and we hear there already are a few offers.
Variety first reported the news.

What did you think by the end Jake? Guilty or not?

Marsh. 26-11-2019 11:10 PM

I went back and forth on this so much. Still don't have a bloody clue if I find him guilty or not. Seems a frustratingly complex individual.

I know they largely left the "owl theory" out of this, I find it unbelievable.

This new series sounds quite like Harrison Ford's film Presumed Innocent from 1990.

Spoiler:

I thought the Owl theory (eventhough it sounded bizarre made the most sense) especially if the reports are right that they found feathers and her own hair in her hands, even if they only found her own hair in her hands, the only reason she would have been pulling at her own hair was if she was trying to get something out, not if she was being attacked by a person or had fallen

I think the guy is an oddball and probably a sleaze but I don't think he did it
