but for some years now , he has failed
much to slow to catch things.

final broadcast on 13 December 2018.
His decision to leave the high-profile
Thursday night discussion show will open up a fierce competition
among candidates who hope to replace him.

he failed, to hear things even ,
He is far too old for such a show

Lovely chap and a broadcasting legend but he's been pretty poor at mediating for a while, now, on both this and election coverages.

Been to his house a few times on my trips to Lamu, lovely man, lovely family, he knows I wish him all the best.
