What about the James Bulger Trust?

GoldHeart 07-07-2018 08:54 PM

Absolutely not . But if other people want to then by all means do it :)

AnnieK 07-07-2018 09:08 PM

I personally wouldn't. A good friend of mine did brave the shave and donated her ling hair to the charity that make real hair wigs for cancer sufferers and she rocked the no hair look. I don't think I could pull it off

And the hair length. ;)

smudgie 08-07-2018 07:44 AM

Yes.
There is no reason why it wouldn’t grow back for most people.
Shows support in not just raising money but making it ok to be bald.

Josy 08-07-2018 07:46 AM

No I wouldnt tbh

Withano 08-07-2018 09:18 AM

Surely it would depend on the amount raised? Like surely every person in the world would go bald for a million to a charity of their choice? I could probably part from mine for 5k.

Nice one.

Vicky. 08-07-2018 10:50 AM

I was going to say no way, however withano raises a good point. If I somehow managed to raise a million, then yes, I would do pretty much anything to get that amount donated to a charity of my choice (or to line my own pockets too with a million :D )

So I guess my answer is, it depends.

I know I could not pull it off though, so I would be a hermit until it grew back to a reasonable length

user104658 08-07-2018 11:38 AM

I wouldn't shave my balls for charity let alone my head.

Just being honest here .

Vicky. 08-07-2018 11:41 AM

Heh a friend of mine did that. He got his hair shaved but sai that wasn't enough for the people who were basically paying to see him suffer (in his opinion ) :D So he also got a back crack and sack was in the middle of a crowded bar. And his chest also. That was..an interesting day

A co-worker of mine did a chest waxing. A very, very hairy guy. There was a fair amount of blood, I don't think he realised what he signed up for :umm2:.

Vicky. 08-07-2018 11:56 AM

Yes there was a bit of blood with this guy too. Also he got a little cut/tear on his bollocks which bled for ages apparently :S

He only raised a couple of hundred too. Like **** would I be getting intimate waxes in crowded places for a few hundred D:

Well said.

...I would never want a lady to shave their head..being bald is not really that much fun...there are other less extreme things like wearing a mad, wild wig type thing...supporting the wig wearing, rather than the no hair look...having wig days can be fun...seeing the weirdest and the whackiest....so far as actually fund raising though, I guess wig days wouldn’t raise that much ...it’s not just people doing ‘extreme things’...it all of those that want to pay to see the do them and to see them suffer...like the pain Vicky and TS have just said...that just kind of doesn’t make any sense for me...if you have £5 spare you would like to donate to charity, then just donate it...without having to see pain or a bald head before it leaves your pocket....weird...

Interesting thought: does women's hair grow back faster than guys?

Amy Jade 08-07-2018 04:15 PM

I probably would for a good ammount to the right charity. They do nice wigs anyway.

My mum got her hair cut short when my Nan's chemo started to take her hair which I think is kind of similar.

Kazanne 08-07-2018 04:24 PM

It's a big ask for some women ,my friend has Alopecia, she has had it for about 15 years now, she was so devastated when she lost her hair as she had a lovely head of jet black hair, she wears wigs now but says they make her sweat terribly so I can't imagine wearing one in this weather, I have seen her without her wig and although shocked at first I kinda got used to it, she never ever goes out without her wig on though.so it's a lovely thing to do for charity ,hair means so much to some women, its like their crowning glory,so you know if they do it for charity they are very brave and commited, fair play to them, not sure I would be that brave, but if the price and charity was right, hmmm, yeah.

..I don’t know, maybe I’m a guy because mine’s not growing back that fast../...quite patchy and fine atm...ughh, I hate being THAT GUY when I never realised I was that guy...that’s all your fault, Gusto.....

...(..I guess it depends on the individual and their hair type etc is the answer..)...
