No two parters :clap1:

I'm really hopeful for this series, the last few got pretty formulaic

Why is this a good thing? :suspect: some of the best stories are 2 parters

Was kind of hoping for eight standalone stories and a two-part finale, but we haven't had a decent second half to a two-part finale (or at least, one better than the first half) since... lol Doomsday maybe?

This will hopefully also allow casual viewers to feel like they can watch without constantly having to keep track of the continuity, which I feel put people off in two-parter-heavy series like series 9

A lot of them are unnecessarily padded out too.

I'm surprised tbh. You'd think they'd want the multi-parters to save costs on sets and guest stars so I suppose it's a good sign that they're still investing in it.

I guess so but with so many companions will 1 part episodes be enough

I'm glad. I really liked last season but it was so arc-heavy I would imagine it would be hard for casual/new viewers to follow

I thought they were contractually obliged to have at least one newly filmed appearance through main story or flashback or cameo etc?

They can have a cameo at Christmas.

Yuletide of the Daleks

I think that was just a rumour. Chibnall confirmed that it’s only new monsters this year. They have two weeks of filming left to do and have no plans for the Daleks.
