What is 1 unpopular opinion you have on parenting?

I will start

Parents should send their children to bed no later than 9.30pm if they are under 16

Kids always moan about that...

"Aww, dad 15 more minutes. Please."

Then they get to 16 and you cant keep them in.

But mine is..murder..certain parents should have been allowed to murder their own kids.

If your child is having a temper tantrum, don’t ****ing offer them candy or cookies so that they stop

Slapping is a good punishment as Long as it doesn’t get used regularly, and stops at a certain age where the child is able to realise that he/she has made a mistake...

There should be a dictionary in place whenever a name is submitted to the registry. If I see one more monstrosity like "Kaylee, Kayleigh, Kaley, Kayli, Kalley, Kaighleigh" etc...

Parents who think they are their kids friends, it's ok when they are older but not when you are nurturing them in the early years.
Too frightened to say no in case little johnny will hate them:joker::joker:

it’s disrespectful to be on your phones when people are talking to you, particularly at family gatherings

for example, my cousin’s kids don’t look up from them when my grandma tries to have a conversation with them, and it’s just one word answers

Kids shouldn't have any access to social media until they're a teenager. Let them have a phone sure, but give them a basic phone that just allows calls/texts.

Get them back outside playing, exploring and having adventures with their mates like we used to do not sitting in the house on FaceBook trying to get 1K likes on a photo.

I don't know if this fits within the parameters of the meaning of the OP, but it always rankles me when people claim that violently warring or unfaithful parents should 'stay together for the sake of the kids' because in my opinion children are far better off growing up in a peaceful and loving environment with one parent.

NOTHING screws up children quite as comprehensively as two adults in a loveless or violent marriage/relationship.
