Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones still on Twitter despite bans from Apple, Facebook etc

[Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones still on Twitter despite bans from other tech companies
The social media site has not banned the conspiracy theorist pundit, despite a crackdown from Apple, Spotify, Google and Facebook.]

He carry's on.

Alf 07-08-2018 03:10 PM

Well done twitter, at the moment

Youtube has dehumanized him also.

Greg! 07-08-2018 03:11 PM

I think he dehumanised himself after he claimed the Sandy Hook shootings were fake.

Shaun 07-08-2018 03:13 PM

Twitter are pretty resolute in their platform being available for literal Nazis so I can't see them changing for him any time soon.

Owned by Google.

Whatever you think of Alex Jones’ Info Wars, YouTube closing it down is part of a programme to shut down alternative media. Yesterday on the BBC it was said, ‘he hasn’t broken the law he has broken their (YouTube’s) laws’. Only the criminal law or the laws of libel should apply.

Gerard Batten MEP and head of UKIP

arista 07-08-2018 03:19 PM

Yes UKIP at the min
have no MP's

The man literally set his rabid audience on the parents of children killed in a school shooting by making out that they faked it. Those parents get harassed regularly and some of them have moved hundreds of miles away from where their children are buried to get away from this arsehole's army of idiots and they still hunt them down to basically goad them for their children dying.

He is a man that deals in lies for profit and he has made the parents of dead children a target for his own benefit. He dehumanised himself by being an absolute **** of a human being.

Except he has broken their rules of bullying and hate speech. The parents of the Sandy Hook victims can attest to that.

Trying to turn this story into a 'poor extremist being repressed by the media!' type thing ain't going to work when he endorses the harassment of parents of murdered children.

Well they also allow groups like AntiFa and BLM, so at least their inadequacies are even handed.

If you equate nazis with Black Lives Matter, sure I guess you would say that :eyes:

BLM uses violence against groups they disagree with and riot at the drop of a hat, so it's not hugely unfair to make the comparison.

One's a group set up to fight for the underrepresented and has had pockets of controversy and abusive members, the other is a group literally founded on persecuting minorities.

Would be like turning up at the trial of Slobodan Milosevic to say "yeah, well, Theresa May once slapped someone..."

Youtube has clear rules about bullying/targeting of others. The Sandy Hook business is a clear violation of that alone and we haven't even touched the hate speech angle.

Alex Jones might be a loon, but he isn't a Nazi.

Tom4784 07-08-2018 03:46 PM

No, he just promotes hate and the harassment of parents of murdered children.

It absolutely is. BLM, whether you agree with their methods and specifics, (sometimes) use violence to further their cause for black rights.

Nazis actively and consistently used violence and murder to further their cause of denying people basic human rights and ultimately murdering millions.

If you can't see the different, boi... :conf:

Not on most streaming or podcast platforms, he isn't.

That's not a good enough reason for big tech companies (monopolies) to have the right to silence human beings, in my opinion.

If they can do it to him, they can do it to anyone, and I don't want them to be able to have that power over us.

Forget Alex Jones, it's not even about him.

Yes but youtube is not the law, and that is the point being made.
