CBS orders US version of Love Island

I know it was kinda mentioned in the Aussie version thread or whatever but it should have it's own thread

https://deadline.com/2018/08/love-is...er-1202442269/

If I had to take a guess, it's probably going to air alongside the US Version of Big Brother next Summer and the Villa will be in North America probably in Mexico or somewhere in a resort area in Central America.

I'd honestly think it will air against the Bachelor shows next Summer. (Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise)

EDIT: is the show any good? The format is kinda interesting to be honest

Let's have it in Jamaica :)

I didn't know about Jamaican Patois :smug:

At least they won't have the fiat 500 audience who complain to ofcom about anything stupid.

Surprised it was CBS who ordered it, this is a pretty big coup for ITV Studios

Interested to see how they schedule it, is there much scope for a stripped reality format in the US?

I can imagine Alexandra and Alex in the car but in front of a green screen, then someone stood behind Alexandra with a hairdryer :joker:

I think CBS are aware of what love Island has done to BB over here so ordered it themselves before another network got it and pitted it against BB

Mate, Big Brother is played a lot different here, Like if you're ever seen Survivor, it's like that except it's in a big brother house

If anything it's likely competition against The Bachelor/Bachelorette, etc.

Not CBS.

It's going to be even more watered down than our last two series have been.

People like Paulie Calafiore to be on this? :joker:

See... I was on board till you said this :nono:

99% sure it won’t be that popular

we already have like 10 different love island type shows

Scoot 13-12-2018 10:56 AM

I'm almost predicting it being like Bachelor in Paradise but with CBS RTV stars?

Side note is Love Island worth watching? I normally despise showmances in BB etc. so the whole concept of the show seems a bit eurgh
