Ben Frow talks about stormy and that BB will NOT be aired in 2019

Frow also addressed rumours that this could be Big Brother's last year on Channel 5.

"I have planned for a year without Big Brother, but never say never. The contract runs out at Christmas," he said.

One week into the present series, Celebrity Big Brother has been as controversial as ever with more than 1,000 viewers complaining to Ofcom when Rodrigo Alves used the N-word twice during a drunken conversation on his first night in the house.

Misleading title. He didn't say that it wouldn't be renewed, just that they're planning for 2019 without BB (since no contract has been signed yet, presumably).

Its not misleading, the contract runs out at Christmas .... It won't be renewed with a years break

It'll get renewed. C5 won't want to do a C4 and lose one of the best shows.

It would be insane.

He didn't say that the contract wouldn't be renewed though. Essentially, just that there are plans for the channel without it.

(ie. If the contract isnt renewed by C5, theyre prepared for it)

edited the title .... but i stand by my personal opinion ... that's the end on C5. Endimol will put it out for tender after Christmas

I'm sure this is the third thread on the same subject

I dont know what the original title was but your edit is still misleading and incorrect. He did not say that BB will not be aired next year he said he has planned for a year without big brother. That isnt remotely the same thing. For example people plan for emergencies whether they will happen or not. He could easily have two plans for the year depending on the negotiations, one with big brother one without. In the midst of hardball negotiations he certainly isnt going to say i really hope we can bring it back. Your interpretation of this is wrong, misleading and unecessarily negative.

Basically... the show is dead so they're not sure they want it.

So next year we're having a year without it where channel 5 will greenlight a couple of shows to replace it.

They do well... BB doesn't come back.

They don't do well... BB returns.

I can't see any channel 5 shows getting more than BB.
They only get what they do for BB because it's a brand inherited from elsewhere.
