It's really late, but i work funny hours.

Would love some advice right now if anyone is about :P

As from my last thread, my break up etc....I feel really alone in this flat im renting I guess your first urge is companionship when you 'lose' a family. Im not overly unhappy but i feel lost.

I get home from work at midnight, have a couple beers, a takeaway, and watch trash TV. Im finding it all hard, hard to adjust.

Sorry, im ranting. Forgive me

Going to the gym helps, but the beer probably doesn't, also the Fried Chicken and Kebabs every night haha.

How long has it been since your split? First and foremost, it just takes time to adjust to any major life change... give it at least 6 months before you expect to feel "normal". The other advice is basic and you probably know it already, and maybe it's easier said than done but...

1) Eat better even if it's not every day. Proper food at least 3 days a week.

2) Drink less.

3) Try to find an interest that isn't just TV... doesn't matter what it is, so long as it actively engages you a bit instead of letting you "zone out". Even watching good films / documentaries instead of trash telly is an improvement. Or read instead.

4) Get more sleep. People hugely underestimate the importance of this one. If you're not getting at least 7+ hours, preferably 8+ hours, you REALLY need to. It makes a massive difference to energy levels and outlook.

But again like I said... unless it's been 6+ months don't expect too much of yourself, it's a major life change and you need time to settle. Just try not to let yourself spiral with drinking more / getting fat... because that'll become a cycle of poor self esteem that's hard to break.
