BBUSA might be in danger

So unless if you guys have been under a rock, you know that the CEO and President of CBS, Les Moonves (who has for a while been in the midst of many allegations of sexual abuse from high profile women), resigned a couple days ago as a result of these allegations.

Julie Chen who is the host of BBUSA, is incidentally Les Moonves wife.

Now there are rumors going around that because of all this, CBS is going through an overhaul, and Big Brother is possibly in jeopardy.

With that, people are saying that Julie Chen (who doesn't have any business with this) will most likely quit the show. BB hasn't been renewed for another season yet, when usually by this time it is. CBB USA has been renewed for another season, but I doubt it's going to happen.

There are more reports saying that Alison Grodner is either resigning or quitting as a result of this somehow.

Basically. BBUSA might be cancelled from CBS after this season.

There are more rumors that "The Talk" which is a live daytime tabloid talk show (which is supposed to be like "The View") in which Julie Chen also hosts with Sharon Osborne and Sarah Gilbert, is also going to end, as Les Moonves also played a role in that show. I believe he created it actually. Julie Chen also is taking an unprecedented break from that show and won't be present, so this is all suspicious.

To me all of this is interesting, and there have been threads about this issue before, but I feel this doesn't look good, and I'm worried.

Big Brother has been the number one show for years and I don't think ratings are declining drastically. This show makes too much money and is their cheapest show. No way this goes. How does the resignation of the network CEO result in cancellation? Are you saying Survivor is getting cancelled too?

They have a back-up plan which is simply to have someone else host. The show has a back-up plan even if Julie quits this season. They always have a back-up plan. Survivor even has a plan if Jeff was to be medically evacuated.

The new host will probably be Derrick, giving Season 16 life going into 2019. Just for people saying it will be cancelled, I'm going to wish for this now if Julie does leave. Meeting Julie is one of the biggest things to look forward to for getting onto the show. I would be very devastated if she did not return for Season 21.

With the verge of BBUK getting cancelled, the loss of both BBUS and BBUK would really make me sad...

Now I only have BBCAN... :bawling:

Anyways I think Ross would be a good replacement if they ever have to come to a point where they have to replace Julie...

Derrick Levasseur? How so?

I would think Jeff Schroeder would be the obvious one to do it considering he has done the cast interviews in the past.

That said.. Arisa Cox for double duty?

Not warming for Ross Matthews, but rather him than Marissa. Maybe Shannon instead?

MODS can we get a merge please.....x

JerseyWins 13-09-2018 01:32 AM

I like Julie hosting but only because I'm so used to it being her... I don't think she's that good of a host anyway.

Let Ross Matthews be the host, hell even Jeff Schroder or Marissa or anyone.. just please keep the show :worry:

I definitely don't want Ross or Marissa, they had some interview show with evictees and it was camp and horrible. The zelebs can disappear.

Anyway if her husband is found guilty of bad stuff maybe she'll divorce, in all the boring speculation of the last several months I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned that possibility.

Koadey 15-09-2018 06:27 AM

I'm down for Arisa to host.

starry 16-09-2018 03:57 PM

I'm against Arisa presenting.

Captain.Remy 16-09-2018 04:00 PM

Nah it definitely won't be cancelled, the ratings are still good.
Julie, however, might end up at the Job Center but at least her botox and fillers are on point so she remains unbothered.
I want Rachel or Janelle to present though.
