Year 13s/anybody else applying to University next year!

I've just been to my UCAS subject consultation meeting today where I argued/got given my A-Level prediction grades and I'm honestly made up... Been predicted AAA (English Language, Geography and Politics)!

I've written my personal statement, and it's going through checking by my form tutor and Geography teachers (as I want to do Geography), I'll amend it, get my tutor references and then hopefully apply :fc:

I just sent off my personal statement to a uni but i realised that it's too long mess (it was under 4,000 characters i feel CATFISHED)

Lowkey hoping they get back like "not considering you BYE" so I get to rewrite my personal statement so it's suitable for Oxbridge

Nah sis x It's for an access programme, basically I find out if I get a place before I apply through ucas x

this is my 2nd mistake on my form and the deadline was 3 days ago lmao i think it's safe to say I've not got a place x

I’m having a gap year now because I’m just sexy I guess.

ABB tho in my A Levels this year so world is my oyster I guess for 2019.

Looking into doing Camp America *glances at Marc* or something similar in this gap year. I’m being promoted to manager anyway at my job so that should be fun if nothing else ends up happening!

Where are you chicks thinking of applying to? I deferred at Liverpool but I kinda wanna reapply and go elsewhere? Idk.

I really fancy York now.

Oh I think I toyed with Leeds but I've only actively been to Manchester and Cambridge lmao so prepared

Oh I stanned it bc they give 0 ****s about work experience but now I have months of volunteering and a 2 week placement so I put it lower on my list

Most universities are pretty leniant with personal statements, especially now that the figures of people actually going to university are going down. Unless you're applying for a top university where the acceptance rate is quite low, you shouldn't worry too much about it being perfect.

Mine was a rambling mess, anyway. I can't even remember what I went on about.

I went to Bristol, great university.

The tutors kept telling us they'd tear our Personal Statement to pieces but they really didn't lol </3

My problem is that my Personal Statement is too long :( It's under 4,000 characters but it was over 47 lines (???). I am going through an access programme which means I can get a reduced offer of ABB for my chosen course and I submitted that Personal Statement, which I cannot put into the UCAS form, and they want the Personal Statements we use in the application form to be the same as the one in the UCAS form. So basically I've probably screwed up my chance of getting the reduced offer for that Uni :skull:

I was considering Cambridge but I really dunno gaaah my Personal Statement isn't academic enough so I'm just hoping I hear back from the University tomorrow and hear "it's too late for you to change" so I just rewrite my PS to be more academic to Cambridge's needs
