The Game Changer

Just explaining this new format, because I’ve seen like 4 different variations now of people misunderstanding!
It’s simple, and it’s consistent

On Sundays, Housemates nominate and the 2 or more with the most nominations face eviction
The viewer nominates to save and the housemate with the least votes joins them in facing eviction
On Tuesdays, 6 people - the nominated housemates, plus richest housemate, plus whoever else the richest housemates picks - play the game changer (save and replace / power of veto) and the winner can save someone from facing eviction but does not have to
On Wednesday’s show, nominations are final and the vote is open for Friday’s eviction

I like it :)

So if a nominated person wins they can save themself?

Yep, it’s literally the format of PoV from the USA!

Serving back to basics

armand.kay 21-09-2018 11:30 PM

We love classic Big Brother

armand.kay 21-09-2018 11:32 PM

Also mess this will probably keep Isaac and Lewis G safe

Jack_ 21-09-2018 11:53 PM

The viewer nomination being VTS is a great idea but also totally pointless cause that person is NEVER going to be evicted under VTE

We'd cull a bore every week if they just brought back VTS, can they use some logic please????

The true Game Changer is Sierra Dawn Thomas

Neda is coming?

...I’ve read about the game changer a few times this morning and still don’t understand how it all works..I’m being dumb...but it said from the beginning that more ‘power’ would be given to the public, which is never going to be true...BB always decide because they decide on the highlight show and the public will vote based on the highlights which are shown...always...I mean what else can we vote on..?...only what we see...

GoldHeart 22-09-2018 05:58 AM

I don't like it but we'll see :idc:

Not once has production said they were serving “back to basics”... That was nothing but fan/media speculation...

What we are seeing is a return to the “core values” of BB... They’ve stripped the show of the superficial and are attempting to build it back up again...

BB-Germany 22-09-2018 06:52 AM

Public nomination doesn't make sense with this voting form, as the most boring housemate won't go with a VTE.

Power of veto is an OK idea and will work with this lot, however it might mess up the show if a hated housemate is saved and a valuable one is put up instead.

I believe we are seeing “Classic BB”... You all are so wrapped up in insignificant and superficial things that you’re forgetting that twists in this format are a nessisary evil... BB has always had them and always will...

thisisdanny 22-09-2018 06:55 AM

Question: So if the winner of the task chooses to save someone, do they have to name a replacement? or are the ones that don't get saved the only ones nominated now?

BB is never perfect... Even if they stayed with the traditional nominations/eviction format there is always a chance boring or hated HM’s stay and interesting people go... It’s all in how nominations fall and where people stand in the house...

I agree that the public nominating doesn’t make sense... It’s a bit redundant as the public chose who is eveicted and could result in the same person being evicted at the end of the week... It defeats the purpose of this series being about competition and gameplay...

That said the ‘game changer’ fits perfectly within this theme... It’s the perfect way to spice up nominations and make evictions slightly less predictable...

No they are free to use the power how they wish... That includes not saving anyone...

This!

The Game Changer would make sense only if they brought back VTS

Not sure I understand the connection here... VTS has nothing to do with whether the ‘game changer’ would work or not... The public nomination twist on the other hand might make it less likely the public would target their own nominee...

The peoples nomination is the housemate that gets the least 'votes to save'

So looking at this own forums poll of favourite housemate, Isaac is bottom of this poll. So if this poll reflects the general publics vote then Issac will be the peoples nomination

Once the final group of nominees are determined (after the Gamechanger),

it is a vote to evict

Looking at this forums poll for least favourite housemate, Issac tops this poll.

So if the general public's voting reflect this forums poll, then Issac will be evicted, because he is bottom of favourite housemate poll and tops least favourite housemate poll.

How is changing the nomination format at all classic BB.

Yeah a few twists a season to keep the show interesting work but this would be the second week in a row where it's not just a normal week. Even bb7 which was meant to be the 'twisted' season wasn't week after week of twist.

annabelindabee 22-09-2018 10:54 AM

I think they should take the two with the most votes from the housemates
and the two with the least votes from the public poll then there should be a game where they compete to save themselves along with the richest housemate who can save one of the four if they won...

I like that idea...

We aren’t talking about one off twists at random like you’re pretending it is... . What is being implemented is a twist that will play out over the series... It’s hardly “week after week of twist”... After this week the nominations process will just be the new “normal”...

That hadn’t even been promised? Like I’m pretty sure they insisted big coins will play a fundamental role in this series throughout
