The 52-year-old star, still sad about Paul, appeared in last year's series of the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, dancing alongside Giovanni and everyone saidf was the true winner and the former magician's assistant says she "has to root" for her ex-pro partner and thinks he and the 42-year-old Steps star "stand a really good chance" of success.

Speaking at the National Reality TV Awards on Tuesday night (25.09.18) at London's Porchester Hall, she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "When you've been on 'Strictly' after that you have to root for your partner, so I have to root for Giovanni and Faye, and I think Faye's really good.

"I think they stand a really good chance."

The new series of the dancing show kicked off last weekend, and Debbie "couldn't believe" the high quality of the contestants.

She said: "I think it was a really, really high standard for the first show I couldn't believe it I don't know where they're going to go from here they're all so good save a little chemistry issue with Aj and Lauren.

The former ballet dancer also offered up her top advice for celebrities trying their hand at dancing for the 16th edition of the show.

She said: "Get yourself fit before you start go on the treadmill, or run get your cardio up, do stretching exercises, get yourself to the gym get yourself some strength."

While Debbie has emphasised the importance of strength training before the show, she admits contestants build on their fitness throughout.

Debbie had been Gio's partner last year, so it makes sense her rooting for Gio's new celeb partner

and no way Faye will be an early boot, judges won't allow that to happen, so i didn't like Faye on ITT last night, with her fake down to earth behaviour ''one week at a time'' when she's already a certain finalist :idc:

She was so good, so grounded - the GBP have really bought into her journey. She is warm and likeable just like Ashley and Swanny.

especially Kate, No Roots is one of my currently fave songs, i want a sexy and hot gypsy tango from her, and i liked the look of that dark dress which is perfect for the gypsy theme :dance2:

i fear kate is too stiff for a tango

and i thought it looked very smooth, so yeah she might do well and i think judges will appreciate some newer music choices as well, i can remember that they mentioned disliking some overused music choices one time


and Kate is a sexy newsreader tbh, also reminds me a bit of a young Catherine Keyl, a dutch news icon :flutter:

and the reason i gave Faye a good score for her cha cha, was new current song choice, and a good cha cha technique, i thought the steps tribute dance moves weren't necessary at all but they didn't ruin the performance
