Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - Shallow (Official UK #1)

Phew we stan soon to be Oscar nominated legends! :flutter:

The Verse > Chorus segue is kinda weird? And it’s a bit short but anyway :flutter:

Is it a new musical?

A revamp of the Barbara Streisand classic?

It’s a remake of the Barbara film which was a remake of the Judy garland film which was a remake of the original Janet gaynor film :hee:

It’s due out next week and has so far been met by rave reviews :hee:

I loved BS in A star is born back in the day

Smithy 27-09-2018 04:58 PM

I take it you have forgotten and Duck Sauce in 2010?

Bradley is alright, Lady Gaga is too shouty. Very meh song [Started off well with Bradley but descended as it became a duet]. This certainly isn't a 'Rewrite The Stars' which was brilliant.

Zendaya really shows that you can sing without shouting/screaming and its beautiful.

Hmm, I was willing to be open minded about this remake of ASIB, but I didn't enjoy that in the slightest. Bradley's got a nice voice, but LG ruins any potential it had halfway through with her OTT vocals (IE: shouting).

Considering this was their choice for the lead single, I dread to think what the rest of the soundtrack's like. All in all, it's a big fat "MEH" from me.

Barbra Streisand she is not.

Oh my...1 minute after posting. You LITERALLY ran in to say that. However I did try and listen to it with an open mind... genuinely.... but whatever.

DouglasS 27-09-2018 06:38 PM

I listened to it objectively.. I like some Lady Gaga songs. She is just way too shouty and screamy, it's not nice to listen to. I have the same opinion on talent shows I never like the screamers that can 'technically sing'. I enjoy the actual voice and tone of a voice, which is why I posted 'Rewrite the Stars', Zendaya shows her how its done without screaming. If Lady Gaga sang it normally it might actually sound okay..

Bingo!!!

I've repeatedly said how much I liked "The Fame" and other tracks from her, but that usually get's tossed aside while people write their own narrative about me being a hater. It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't shout so much. I'm the same with Christina Aguilera. Love some of her songs but her shouty vocals are a big turn off.

Vanessa 27-09-2018 06:48 PM

I saw her here in London, Leicester Square. She was wearing a white dress.

I honestly think the majority of the public feels the same way. She was at her most popular when she sang and didn't shout

I agree. When did she start shouting... was it around the time of Artpop...or was it earlier?

Even her own fans don't care for it.

"I can’t believe I waited all day for this. She sounds great but this is not it. I was expected her to have her my heart will go on or I will always love you moment. The crowd noise ruins it for me"

"the crowd noises arent the tea and the first half of the song is boring, so much wasted potential"

"That was a little underwhelming"

"Should’ve been only Bradley"

"I HOPE THIS IS NOT THE ****ING FINAL VERSION OMG WTF"

:joker:

Deserves to be #01 for at LEAST 6 months!

Marsh. 27-09-2018 08:22 PM

All this talk about "shouting" it's almost as though you're only used to women who can't even reach 1 note never mind several. :idc:

Smithy 27-09-2018 08:48 PM

#1 on US iTunes already!

Jessica. 27-09-2018 10:19 PM

I love it, she's not shouty at all. Their voices go really well together!
