Kicked out for Auschwitz comment (The Sun)

Quote:

Lewis’ conversation with his co-star Cameron where he made the comment will never be aired on Big Brother.

A source close to the bartender insisted to The Sun Online it was a “slip of the tongue”.

They explained: “Lewis was talking to Cameron and told him: ‘When we get out of here, we’ll sort you out with some Auschwitz’.

“He said he was supposed to say ‘outfits’. He's told people it was a slip of the tongue and he didn’t know why he said it.”

I don't like the lad but that's a ridiculous reason if true. It's Dan Wooton so idk how legit it is.

How are y'all gonna defend him huh

co0ol 27-10-2018 08:47 PM

I don't get it.

JoshBB 27-10-2018 08:49 PM

Might be chinese whispers kinda thing. I'm gonna wait til we get a more trustworthy source, but if this is the real reason, thank **** C5 won't have their grubby hands on Big Brother anymore.. cus thats ridiculous

yeah as soon as I heard there was some ~historical context~ I jokingly thought of him as a Holocaust denier but I guess we weren't that far off? :skull:

Brother Leon 27-10-2018 08:50 PM

That can’t be it. That sentence doesn’t even make sense. If so then he was definitely robbed of his eventual win and I don’t even like him.

MTVN 27-10-2018 08:51 PM

Lol the Auschwitz/outfits thing makes no sense

Maybe he made a joke about Cameron looking like he'd been in Auschwitz or something

That would make more sense.

Cherie 27-10-2018 08:53 PM

Is Brooke Jewish? There has to be some reason for his mention of religion in his apology

The outfit comment made no sense

Tom4784 27-10-2018 08:54 PM

Sounds like bull****, BB wouldn't get rid of their winner over a comment like that when they warned someone for using the N-word just a few weeks ago.

Well there's that producers vs Channel 5 angle Lewis' family/friends tweeted too. So I could see BB not wanting to kick him out for that kind of comment, but C5 not wanting to deal with a controversy just a week before they wash their hands of the show.

Elliot 27-10-2018 08:57 PM

Lmao no way this is the real reason

Liam- 27-10-2018 09:01 PM

If that’s the real reason then that’s pathetic,, a slip of the tongue is definitely not ejection worthy and a tasteless, misjudged joke should only really receive a formal and final warning imo, I’d take everything The Sun says with a pinch of salt, but if this is the case the. It’s a good thing Channel 5 haven’t got the show any more.

Matthew. 27-10-2018 09:04 PM

nah i find that hard to believe

no she’s Buddhist

pontyboi 27-10-2018 09:19 PM

If this is the reason its obviously a slip of the tongue and Channel 5 didn't even have to air it.

It doesn't make any sense to be kicked out over that. If it wasn't aired or directed as an insult at anyone to cause the housemates to discuss the situation further it literally could have just been swept under the rug.

Absolutely pathetic.

susie q 27-10-2018 09:21 PM

Not very likely, I think the worst he would have got would be a warning. Still think it was something directed at another housemate.

MTVN 27-10-2018 09:24 PM

One of the most read stories on the BBC atm: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-46002292
Big Brother contestant Lewis Flanagan has been removed from the house for "unacceptable language" but says he's "not ashamed" of what he's done.

Viewers were shown the moment the 27-year-old from Stockton-on-Tees was called into the diary room and told to leave.

He said that he was "obviously devastated" and that what he said was "unacceptable".

Viewers won't find out the circumstances until Sunday's episode.

Toy Soldier 27-10-2018 09:25 PM

Maybe he made a joke about the hair / the holocaust and then followed up with the pun?

I can see Channel 5 not wanting to get mixed up with any antisemitism claims, especially with recent political stuff...

Though it is all pretty ridiculous.

bitontheslide 27-10-2018 09:27 PM

its vaguely reminiscent of the famous faulty towers, dont mention the war episode

Now we've gone to a anti semetic rumour  . Dan Wooton is about as reliable as a paper door :bored: , so I never take notice of what he says.

This is why I hope we see what happened tomorrow, so the rumours can stop .
