Scream 2 is one of the few horror films that is superior to the original

It has the Saddest death in the franchise for me tho

3 was a mess. I hated the weird scenes of Sidney being haunted by her mother and the dumb motive.

As Much as i prefer 4 to 3, Jill's Motives were much Dumber Than Romans.

Like wanting to Kill your Cousin out of Jealousy for Her Fame? Like WTF!

I thought her motive made sense tbh.

It showed how insane she was, but also how much had changed since the original and the length some people nowadays will go just to get their fifteen minutes / how you can get famous without achieving anything, it was contemporary to the era we're living in.

But only because of the nostalgia of the original trilogy. Emma Roberts being the killer in 4 was a tad iconic though

Wizard. 28-10-2018 08:03 PM

I always scream (pun intended) that Drew Barrymore is on the cover for Scream but is only in the first 10 minutes :joker:

ngl i was shocked at Emma being the killer, i never suspected her at all. I thought it was those nerds but turns out it was one of them with Emma.

There needs to be a 5th one! I'm gagging for it.

3 is a mess plot wise but still an enjoyable movie in its own right.

Beastie 28-10-2018 08:41 PM

I did not mind 4 but it was a bit teeny boppery and I could not take Emma Roberts being the killer seriously. The first 3 had more chemistry! The 5th one needs to focus more on Sydney Gail and Dewey but Gail Dewey or both should die.

Sure. Her and someone else.

Never Campbell has not bloody aged!

Courtney and David Arquette looked like their faces were melting in the 4th film. Think they should die together in the 5th. Or just one of them.

Then Sydney just disappears off into the sunset to hopefully not see Ghost face again!

I disagree. There are literally instances of people killing others to become famous. It was definitely a modern take on a motive but it was pretty chilling.

Roman was so left field and he was a succesful person with or without Maureen around and it never felt real, like when Jill started self harming I think most viewers got that this girl was just an out and out psycho bitch. Roman wants revenge on Sid because their mother abandoned him? Sid knew nothing about it? Just never made any sense.

Just watching 3 now and the Gale and Dewey are definitely shown too much, Scream is Sidney's story fundamentally and she feels like a secondary character to them.

I do like Sid's character development though, living in high security (unlike Cotton who is apparently a big celebrity who lives in an unguarded house which is right next to a major road and their doors are unlocked...hmm) and taking on a job as an phone councellor for abused woman feels very in character for her.

It should open with Dewey's funeral, and Gale's grief tips her over the edge and she is Ghostface for that movie.
