Has anyone on here ever been to a psychic medium?

My mother is obsessed with shows like John Edward, Tyler Henry even Sally Morgan (don't get me started on that one!).

I personally believe they are the worst kind of human who make money from peoples grief. She has never been to see one and is banging on about her and a friend going to some local amateur.

Obviously if shes going to pay money and go anyway I would rather they see one who can at least give a good show that they can take something from even though I know its a pile of ****.

So any recommendations?

Also if you have been to see one how did you find the experience?

Not all psychic mediums charge for their readings.
I know a lot of psychic mediums, and usually, the best ones don't charge and tend to be the most accurate.
An interesting theory that some of them have is that the spirits need something for information - so it's a transaction.

Also, you don't have to go see big 'famous' TV psychic mediums, you'll probably find ones in your local area tbh

I’ve seen Sally live twice :flutter:

Folk who are not famous. My mums friend who sadly passed away a few years back and also my friends mum is a psychic.

They were both extremely accurate and would never dream about charging folk.

I don't want to sound offensive but did your mothers friend predict her own death?

I don't believe in it at all. Take Derren Brown for example he gave an incredibly accurate reading in one of his shows then explained how it all worked using cold reading tactics.

It was amazingly good and if it had not been obviously fake then it could have even convinced me.

The reason I would rather she see a semi famous one is even though I believe its fake she and her friend could atleast gain some pleasure of meeting someone "famous".

Liam-How was Sally Morgan because all her predictions on tv this year have been wrong. Ive heard she has her people in the audience listening to convos so did they ask any questions that could be fed to her? Or was everyone talking about personal info whilst waiting to go into the reading?

She had terminal cancer so she knew anyway I suppose

But you're getting mixed up with those who predict the future which is a whole other game - the psychic mediums that you often see are those who can 'see'/communicate with spirits. I wouldn't trust folk who say they can predict the future

I don't want to convince you, and I don't really care if you're convinced or not. Believe what you want

Cold Reading

Jules82 02-11-2018 12:22 PM

There is a lot of accuracy with many but also there are those who look for the obvious. If they are charging sometimes it is just all about the money. If they themselves have to travel and incur expenses then a small fee is plausible. Some will come to the house within a small gathering. Others use the Spiritualist Churches.

There is definitely more to life than we realise, the word death itself just means change, a change of a situation. It is not always a bad card within tarot readings or psychic chat.

I have had many accurate readings, did the information make you feel better then believe. On the other hand I have also had a load of "bull". Some just give truth as they think another wants. Some just want to please. Many just want the cash. Many are empathetic and are true readers. Never give one clues, have a poker face :laugh:

If you dream listen to your own dreams, prophecy sometimes comes in bits and pieces, symbols, things which you have to fathom out. I feel the past, present and future are all one and we are just on a wheel of activity.

Sally is quite hit and miss, so I don’t really get the accusations from the media that she’s a fraud, I she was a fraud, she’d be a lot more accurate than she is st times, the first time I saw her she was amazing, got practically everything right, made some great connections etc, but the second time, she was majorly off the majority of the time, it wasn’t a good night for her at all and no, there wasn’t anyone going around asking personal questions, or lingering to hear personal questions, it was all very normal.

What kind of information?

Some people are good at cold reading - an example on a tv show called The Hustle was that a man had a "tan line" on his ring finger, so they knew he was recently divorced, and he'd make an extra hole in his belt, meaning he was losing weight as his ex-wife was nicking his money.

I think most "psychic readings" are a variety of that.

Literally things about my grandmother, i even scoured pages online for hours and nothing (there wouldn't have been anyway - she died in '97). I was genuinely chilled to the bone

Either way there'd be no motivation to find anything because after all she was one of my mothers close friends and she didn't charge owt

Underscore 02-11-2018 03:56 PM

We didn't even ask for a reading really

If I could read minds, I'd go on The Chase, as Bradley can see the answers when he reads the questions, so I'd just say what he sees, if I didn't know the answer 8-)

I went to see a tea leaf reader and was gobsmacked at the things she said , so accurate about several bad things that were going on in my life and also gave me the initials of the person that had done the bad things and was spot on.
I recommended her to many people , she charged a tenner but at that time made a cassette tape of her whole reading , sadly she has passed now and i wish i could find another as good as Elsie was.

There is a £1 million pound fund available in the States for ANYONE who can prove they can levitate or hypnotise/ read minds / telekinesis / Aliens : UFOS / ghosts or whatever and recreate it in LAB CONDITIONS !!!

The fund has remained UNCLAIMED for over 25 YEARS !!

World renowned SCAM ARTIST Uri Geller tried to con them and got caught [emoji4]

Think it's called the James Randie fund ...

I saw Sally live in Llandudno and it was absolutely terrible. She basically blamed we the audience for not knowing what she was on about and tried to say that people who were going to put their hand up didn't because "someone with them was telling them not to" :laugh2:. Was 90 minutes of her just looking blank and giving out wrong info that nobody could relate to.

BUT my sister when to a guy who lives near us for very cheap (like a fiver or something) at his house, and he was spookily accurate. Knew names, dates, family "pet" nicknames, all about my illness (said my Nana who he also described to a T, where she worked, address etc was watching over me), described people's birthmarks, events that had happened etc and even predicted upcoming events that actually came true. Was scarily accurate and stuff he couldn't have known. A total stranger, totally blew my sister away to the point she cried, she was a total sceptic until that point.
