The sound issues affected Danny Tetley's performance, prompting calls for him to sing again

The X Factor has cancelled its public vote after the show was hit by sound issues on Saturday night.

Viewers complained that the judges and some of the performances sounded distorted and contestants sounded like "Daleks".

ITV apologised and said the vote will take place on Sunday's show instead.

It is thought to be the first time voting has been cancelled in the singing show's 15-year history.

Viewers started to encounter sound issues during the performance by Danny Tetley and continued through Anthony Russell's song.

A message appeared on screen which read: "We are sorry for the temporary interference in sound."

At the end of the programme, another message said: "Due to a technical issue, tonight's vote has been cancelled. It will open in tomorrow night's show."

The show was not live and had been pre-recorded on Saturday afternoon, so host Dermot O'Leary did not refer to the sound problems.

On social media, viewers called for ITV to call off the voting.

It was so Robbie could appear - he has to go on tour for a week or so and his flight would've clashed with the show.

Ah, I see. I thought it was strange because I thought it was always live.

Well what do you expect really?

LaLaLand 03-11-2018 11:31 PM

So Danny and Druggy are gonna sing again tomorrow then lines open for a flash vote?

Oliver_W 04-11-2018 12:08 AM

Does it really matter if it was prerecorded? As long as the vocals aren't replaced or autotuned after the fact, what's it matter if it's happening now or a few hours ago?

Who was complaining?

so danny n anthony are confirmed through to next week then ! fookin GREAT

joeysteele 04-11-2018 06:59 AM

So much for being taken through to the 'live' finals when to suit a judge that can be changed.

Also a flash vote has to be grossly unfair to so many acts and 2 going out.
I hate flash voting anyway.

Better to just carry all over to next week and clear out 3 or 4.

From what I watched barely 3 should be there anyway.

For my sins I am, with friends and Cousins.
More out of a bit of loyalty than now liking it.

I ask myself why, many times while it's on, especially with Robbie and his wife on it.
Really hard going it is this series.

caprimint 04-11-2018 09:34 AM

Robbie is the best thing they could've done to the show tbh

X Factor cancels voting after sound issues

Maybe they should cancel the voting every week because most of these contestants can't flamin sing .

The only one last night that sounded anything like decent was the guy who sang Creep and even then he was trying too hard to show off his range ..

I give up on this series ...

The only star they've ever given us was Will Young and that must be 20 years ago [emoji20]

I don't get their logic here, what difference is it going to make by opening the vote tonight?

Sadly, to avoid further backlash from the public, I think its fair to say that both Danny & Anthony will avoid the bottom 3 tonight. Wouldn't surprise me if they are given a head start in votes to ensure their safety, at the expense of two other acts.

Will Young wasn't on X Factor, and even then the likes of Little Mix and One Direction are more successful.

You get my point ...

One Direction were successful and nice lads...

I'd rather not even comment on that other group you mentioned ..things could get ugly ..

But they're still more successful than Will Young - whether they are good or not.

That's largely due to the power of Simon Cowell and his 'team' though ..

They'd be nobodies without xfactor ... imagine if they're were busking in your nearby precinct .. they'd probably starve to death .

So why arent Will Young, or the likes of Louisa Johnson, Matt Terry or Rak-Su as big as Little Mix if they're with Simon Cowell and his team?
