He's not unanimously hated. I like him, and the rankings thread he's actually quite popular. At the worst, he's probably divisive.

As for the actual question, he probably has some hate for being already a dominant personality, which is always going to divide opinion

He's always been very over the top so people just find him irritating or overbearing. I don't think its hate exactly, they just don't like him.

I love him, I found him very funny and entertaining, exactly what you want on reality tv. I hope he goes far.

But a lot of gay celebrities are OTT and 'camp it up' and are not hated, but instead embraced, adored and gushed over. Not sure why such negativity for John when he does the same thing.

I don't think so, but he wasn't playing himself so I suppose not. I love him though so maybe I don't see where the hate comes from.

I don't mind John Barrowman.

He can be very loud at times but I think he could end up being hilarious in there.

First off it's nothing to do with the fact he's gay. No one cares about that.

It's that John thinks he's super talented when in reality he's very average and just got lucky because of his so-called good looks.

At least he is lively and a bit of fun. Tbh I don't dislike any of them so far although James seems a bit lost in there and I don't think he will add anything to the show.

I'm indifferent. He's far from offensive and is lovely but I can't stand OTT people who act like they're in a drama performance. Like, the singing tonight, I just couldn't find it funny, got on my nerves (and he only sang for ten seconds :laugh:)

I doubt I'll ever hate him but I'm sure he might end up lingering in the bottom half of my ranks
