Windy conditions in the jungle meant that props began blowing around and a wooden sign hit him in the back of the head.

A source said: “The sign hit Joel with some force and he was rushed to hospital, he needed seven stiches and has been given the day off to recover.”

Bosses hope Joel, 32, will be back on ITV2 after some rest today.
