It's nothing to do with democrats, Arista. Trump said he would be "proud" to shut down the government. He doesn't have the votes to do what he wants.



He was going to sign the agreement until he was criticised on fox news and then he decided to act like a spoilt kid and throw his toys out of the pram.

It's purely because a president who doesn't read presidential briefings and only gets his information from fox was criticised by usually fawning hosts that he's willing to do this over Christmas.

He claimed the new trade agreement would account for it, but trade agreements by their very nature are distributed into the hands of private citizens (who actually have the businesses involved in trading products). why do you take everything he says at face value and without questioning?

Trump cares about nothing but building a lasting monument to himself. He is a narcissist in the winter of his life and he wants to leave something that he believes will last and he doesn't care who he steps on to do it.

A wall won't stop illegal immigration and considering that the wall is just a vanity project which is using his base's extreme elements and their inherent racism towards mexicans to fuel it. It's an expensive waste of money to fuel Trump's ego and it saddens me that so many republicans are willing to lick his arse over it when there should be a bypartisan rage over his actions. He is ****ing over republican and democratic workers alike and the lack of condemnation from the republicans is grotesque.
