Man Confesses to the Murder of JonBenét Ramsay

Gary Oliva, 54, a convicted pedophile who is currently serving a 10-year sentence in a Colorado prison for child pornography, has admitted in letters obtained by DailyMailTV he killed her by accident.

Oliva, who was once jailed for trying to strangle his mother, wrote: 'I never loved anyone like I did JonBenét and yet I let her slip and her head bashed in half and I watched her die. It was an accident. Please believe me. She was not like the other kids.'

In another letter, Oliva wrote, 'JonBenét completely changed me and removed all evil from me. Just one look at her beautiful face, her glowing beautiful skin, and her divine God-body, I realized I was wrong to kill other kids. Yet by accident she died and it was my fault.'

The letters were sent to music publicist Michael Vail, a former high school classmate of Oliva's.

Vail has suspected Vail's involvement in JonBenét's murder for 22 years but told DailyMailTV he thinks Oliva's written confession is the proof needed to finally get Oliva charged with the crime.

The incriminating letters from Oliva have now been presented to Boulder police.

Police spokesperson Laurie Ogden told DailyMailTV, 'The Boulder Police Department is aware of and has investigated Mr. Olivas’ potential involvement in this case.

'We have passed the additional information you provided onto investigators. We will not comment on any actions or the status of this investigation.'

I always thought it was the Brother, but definitely never expected a confession from anyone.

No ****ing way. So much mystery around it, I’m struggling to accept it! I’m glad that there’s closure though

People are taking this as legit? He could easily just be looking for attention or mentally unwell. Hopefully some evidence is discovered.

Did you read the article? The guy said he hurt a child the night it happened to the guy he wrote the letters to before the story of her murder broke

I also am going to wait for more information. I'd like to believe it, but i need more evidence.

Let's hope that the Police have found the right guy and that there's some closure to this girl's murder.

However I do wonder if the guy is an attention seeker.

I think it's you who needs to read up on the case.

I dunno it reads weirdly, I call BS. Though maybe just because she clearly didn't "slip" and then randomly die, so clearly if it was him, it was deliberate and he's claiming otherwise. But something about the statement rings false.

Yes that's true and the 2nd time this man has "confessed" 1st time it was thrown out

I hope it's him so that the family can finally have closure but I share Jordan's doubts. It's not uncommon for people to claim responsibility for crimes they didn't commit as a way of getting attention.

Either way, it needs investigating and I hope that investigation can finally bring this case to a close.

It does (horrifically enough in itself) read more like the perverted fantasy of an already-convicted offender rather than a genuine confession? Like a fiction he's created because it's a famous case and he wishes that it was him that was involved.

Usually to figure out if these things are genuine they get the person confessing to provide details of the crime that are known to police, but not publicly available... But this case has been gone over in the public eye quite a few times now so I'm not sure if there ARE any details that he couldn't have gotten from the news, documentaries or online.
