Behind Her Eyes

Quote:

Netflix has ordered the adaptation of Sarah Pinborough's best-selling psychological thriller Behind Her Eyes – so prepare for a killer twist and bedtime with the lights on after viewing.

The six-part series follows the story of Louise, a hard-working single-mother who is supporting her son with a part-time job in a psychiatrist's office. Her world is thrown off-kilter when she begins an affair with her new boss David and matters take an even stranger turn when she's drawn into an unlikely friendship with his wife Adele.

What starts as an unconventional love triangle soon becomes a dark, psychological tale of suspense and twisted revelations, as Louise finds herself caught in a dangerous web of secrets where nothing and no-one is what they seem.

Ahhhhh the book was so good, Netflix better do it justice

I hate when they tell you there's a "killer twist" though, it ruins the surprise of twists when you're looking for one.....I will still watch

Without the warning of a killer twist though, would you not be expecting a killer twist, in which case this cannot ruin the surprise of a killer twist :suspect:

She means even if it didn’t say there was a twist, would not expect one anyone bc most shows have them nowadays

Smithy 17-02-2021 02:43 PM

It’s honestly such a good twist I was so gagged when i read it

Not all shows do. It must be just me, once I know there's a twist I spend the whole time watching it trying to figure out what it is and a lot of times I figure it out and that's really disappointing

Vicky. 17-02-2021 02:47 PM

I don't think I have ever seen a crime type show that does not have a twist. Besides the true crime ones. And even them sometimes have one added for suspense

Will add this to my watchlist anyway, though knowing its a book makes me want to read it first, as generally speaking, the books are 100x better than the tv adaptations.

Smithy 17-02-2021 02:50 PM

Can one of yall update the title to just Behind Her Eyes too, it still says “Netflix Orders Adaptation of...” thanks :hee:

I changed it, it said it on the thread title when you click into the thread but not on the title when it's just on the TV Chat list

Smithy 17-02-2021 02:58 PM

I’ve only watched the first ep so far, if I finish it in the next couple of days I’ll let you know!

Smithy 17-02-2021 02:58 PM

-will probably finish it tonight-

I watched the first 4 episodes last night, here's my prediction (I hope I'm wrong) :

Spoiler:

I think Adele killed Robert and what she's actually holding over David is that he dumped his body down the well to protect her. I think she may also have started the fire that killed her parents. I think she bought the heroin to overdose Louise (the last we saw of her was when she was in Adeles house thinking she had OD'd. I think she probably did similar to the woman in the cosy cafe in Brighton.

That's all very predictable so I hope I'm totally wrong. The only bit that's a bit weird though and making me think I might be wrong is that in Louises nightmare it seems like she's in a burned manor house like Adele's family home which would be odd because she wouldn't have known about that house to have nightmares about it or maybe she's predicting the future and Adele will bring her there I don't know. Also what's the story with Adele dreaming she was in the room with David and Louise and that's how she knew about their affair hhhmmmm

Anyway good show so far, I hope the ending doesn't let me down
