USA suspends Cold War nuclear weapons treaty with Russia

The USA will suspend the Cold War missile treaty with Russia, secretary of state Mike Pompeo has said.
Mr Pompeo said he will suspend its compliance with the treaty on Saturday 2/2/19
and the US could pull out
formally in six months - but gave Russia

So these are medium range missiles.
I think Russia has been in breach of this for a while.
They’ve been developing all kinds of new weapons.
Hypersonic missiles that can dodge air defences like a fighter jet etc.
Scary times.
Nobody wants a nuclear war but the biggest threat is it happening by accident.There were a few near misses during the Cold War.
