No particular order (other than Nier being top :hee: ) and I've tried to include a mix of genres. Honorable recent mentions to Until Dawn, Horizon Zero Dawn, Detroit and Spider-man. It's been a good couple of years for gaming IMO.



RDR2 and Persona 5 might be on the list once I actually finish them. I didn't actually rate RDR2 all that highly for a major chunk of the game but from Chapter 4 onwards (I'm on chapter 6) it's been pretty awesome. But I can't in good conscience add games I haven't finished to the main list.

3) Super Mario Bros. 3
4) Fallout 3
5) Mario Kart 64
6) Grand Theft Auto V (the first 2 years of "online" were fantastic, but the game has since gone to pot)
7) Batman: Arkham City (narrowly pips Asylum for me)

9) Bioshock Infinite
10) GTA: Vice City

Honorable mentions: Goldeneye, Mortal Kombat 3, Street Fighter, Crazy Taxi, Burnout, Need for Speed: Underground, Far Cry 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fortnite, Dishonored & Banjo-Kazooie.

Fallout 4 and Skyrim would both be on mine but only on PC extensively Modded (and I mean 200+ mods including gameplay mechanic overhauls), not unmodded, which makes them a unique and complicated case :think:
