The import of US chlorinated chicken, beef with growth hormones and GM produce

This will form part of any trade deal with the USA.

Brilliant isn't it!

Anyway, let's hope there's a different president by the time of negotiations bc this one will force all sorts of American crap on the UK

No it is washed off

joeysteele 01-03-2019 07:46 PM

Well I wouldn't touch it.
Then again, I don't now eat meat, I'm vegetarian.
This however, if I did eat meat would worry me considerably.

Americans healthy and few problems.
That's a new one.

Even my cousins who live in L.A. won't touch meat over there.

The reason they chlorinate the chicken is because of potential disease on the chicken.. :skull:

I'm sure the uk has 1 chicken per family per day on offer..clucking away, happily running about the sheds, unaware of being crammed 8 at a time into 24 berth crates.Thier wings crunching on entry, to allow space for the comfortable 8 hour journey towards the patheticness of their finality. Those poor bewildered gaping eyes as the metal noose clunk's them inching forward.

Here is a link that says otherwise for Arista who loves Brexit

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47036119

US lobby groups for agriculture and pharmaceutical firms want UK standards changed to be closer to those of the US in a post-Brexit trade deal.

The meat lobby wants the sale of growth hormone-fed beef, currently banned in the UK and EU, to be allowed in the UK.

The drugs company lobby wants changes to the NHS drugs approval process to allow it to buy more of US drugs.

They are also asking US officials - who will hold a hearing later - to seek lower tariffs on agricultural goods.

The farming groups say any deal should move away from EU standards, including rules governing genetically modified crops, antibiotics in meats, and pesticides and herbicides, such as glyphosate.

Of course there are people who break the law, the point is there is a law so when they are caught there are consequences just like with the horse meat scandal

arista 02-03-2019 07:46 AM

Yes Cherie
Our Standards are good

bots 02-03-2019 07:55 AM

Well, i care very much about the food standards we have here in the UK, and for all those who say it won't happen, of course it will, the moment business decides what we can eat rather than our standards agencies.
