Katy or Britney, neither of them bring anything that somebody else can’t do better or at least just as well

TomC 26-03-2019 04:36 PM

Selena/Camila are the ones that spring to mind. Literally nothing unique/memorable about them.

Hmmm I think Katy has too many iconic Katy moments and Britney really has her own lane in the music industry to be the most generic

Really? I can’t think of ONE iconic Katy moment and I wouldn’t really count the Super Bowl because ALL the pop girls bring it hard there for it to be memorable

And Britney’s own lane is because she’s the only performer in the industry with the audacity to lip sync her entire show and do half asses choreo AND get away with it

Black Dagger 26-03-2019 05:10 PM

Anne Marie.

What a ****ing basic cow.

I was kinda referring to her videos/imagery. Like TGIF and California Gurls for example are iconic, and something the most generic could never pull off.

Amy Jade 26-03-2019 05:48 PM

Anne Marie

Not a fan of Taylor Swift either, her country stuff was better than anything recent imo

montblanc 26-03-2019 06:15 PM

Selena Gomez & Camila Cabello

Elliot 26-03-2019 06:24 PM

Anne Marie

Dua lipa

Selena Gomez

The holy trinity of boring people to death!

Rita Ora to be honest. Now that she's proven to have some longevity I still don't really get it outside of some great songs written for her that could've been written for anyone. Dua Lipa could've had 'Anywhere', 'I Will Never Let You Down' could've done just as fine for anyone like Kelly Clarkson or P!nk, and 'How We Do' was her only other great song.

She hasn't got a great voice, her look isn't terribly unique, and she isn't a terribly exciting personality. I just don't get why she's so huge (other than the sad and hopefully-unfounded accusations of how she's slept around a bit).

JerseyWins 27-03-2019 03:44 AM

Honestly Selena really is incredibly basic. But I like her anyway

Of the ones that haven’t been mentioned Bebe Rexha and Jess Glynn (although Jess does have a somewhat recognisable voice I suppose but the personality and music...)

Mitchell 28-03-2019 03:16 PM

Dua Lipa for sure, also Ellie Goulding

Jigs 28-03-2019 04:20 PM

Taylor and Selena

she has?

 just in the sense that she's been going since 2011 with a pretty reliable string of hits, where the likes of others since haven't (RAYE, Charli XCX, Katy B, Emeli Sande, Kiesza, Zara Larsson)... you'd have to imagine a few of the current ones will struggle with album #2 too (anne-marie, MAYBE dua idk)

I know she's only had two albums but the interest in her hasn't died down which I find weird.
