I think on the whole of it (obviously latter-seasons Monica is a nightmare) the worst character for me is probably Joey. Just a bit one-note, sleazy, and the laziest source of comedy on the show. The others all had some degree of intelligence of about them, whether it was Chandler's sarcasm, Ross' work problems, Phoebe's eccentricities, Monica's neuroses and struggle to be the voice of reason, or Rachel's Rich Girl Problems

“The One Where Joey Speaks French” is the show at its very rock bottom. Not one thing about it made sense.

Regardless of how funny Phoebe was, she was the shallowest written of the characters. But then it's a comedy, not the English Patient.

This Monica hate is wrong. Love Monica!

I disagree, shes much funnier than Monica

Ross I think is an underappreciated character but not the funniest. He's actually one of the best developed characters on the show (along with Chandler) and I sometimes think that people - when talking about him being a horrible character - maybe don't realise that the humour of the character IS how broken / affected he is.

He was the awkward unpopular guy at school who finally got a girlfriend in college and she turned out to be a lesbian making him distrustful in relationships... He finally "got the girl" and then his paranoia and insecurity wrecked that relationship too and yes from then on the character is a sad, insecure, slightly misogynistic wreck... But that's the dark humour of Ross

Agree with all of this too

“At least all my songs don’t taste like garlic” >> Monica’s career

Monica just always used to piss me off. This is apparently controversial as I remember being screamed at by a friend for this, but I think the Monica and Chandler romance storyline sent Chandler way down hill too :/

The second they got married was the moment Chandler lost some of his character

Except that's Joey. Never written or performed with any depth.

The triplets story alone gave her more depth than Joey got in 10 seasons.

I agree funniest I found Ross was actually in episodes with Phoebe.

Where he and Phoebe are dating the couple who just broke up but are taking it out on each other.

"Speaking of selfish in bed, how's Whitney?"

"We want the LAST SIX YEARS BACK!!!"

When she fell out with him but couldn't remember why. Or when she befriended his new neighbours. :joker:

Was this about a dream she had with them playing chess? :joker:

This was one of my favourites :joker:

“Whatever I’ve done, I’m very, very sorry..”

“...ok! :)”

“Ok! So, are we cool!”

“Yeah!”

“Ok, I’ll see you later”

“Bye... fatass
