Is CBB4 overrated?
Yes imo
I found it a bit dull in places, it was a really unlikeable cast, and it had the wirst bullying in the show..ever. Pete was the only saving grace for me, along with Tracias |
I rewatched CBB4 back in september and i too found it somewhat dull aswell.
Pete was so legendary! Jodie marshs treatment was really uncomfortable): |

Jodie & Traci >>>
I liked Pete too but he was unjustifiably nasty to my faves :( |
Traci is so underrated!!

It’s one of my favourite CBB series. Jodie, Pete, Dennis and George were great characters but I agree the way Jodie was treated was harsh.
I would say tho that there are superior CBB series to this one. CBB 11 and 19 were far better |

The c4 cbbs have always been kinda awkward and forgettable. Feel like this is one of the exceptions. Pete Burns alone makes it worth the watch imho, even if he was way too harsh on Jodie :skull:

Pete Burns was funny at times but he went too far in some arguments

I don’t think so actually. By far Channel 4’s best CBB.

Speidi as well I found so entertaining to watch, they made that series. Being a Hills fan I was intrigued to watch them and see how they would cope from the beginning. I’ve never seen a couple in the big brother house hated as much as they were. |
I think it deserves the popularity it has and would be my second favorite CBB<3. Apart from Pete, I thought there were several enjoyable housemates with lots of complexity to them; Chantelle, George, Traci, the odd time Preston and Jodie as well. Even the ones I haven't mentioned still had interesting aspects to their personality that helped shape the dysfunctional presence of the series, including the people I didn't even like, similar to how I'd describe the CBB17 cast.
I'll also never get why so many people who complain about the 'alleged' bullying of Jodie are also huge fans of Pete; although I don't really think she was bullied by him either since he was actually giving her a wake up call about how critical and rude critique can be to someone desperate for limelight like her. The only person I thought was actually gone too far with her was Michael, and even that was pretty interesting because it displayed the pathetic flaws he had to a much larger extent than what he was portraying her as. CBB4 also fell between BB6, a series full of hyper craziness for 11 weeks, and BB7, a series that was much more sociable, meaning it's a weird combination of the two and it all meshed together really well imo. |

I recall enjoying it at the time- although that's mainly due to it being my third C5 series I'd watched. Looking back, it does bring back some nostalgia. It's not the worst CBB tho, that title goes to CBB18. |

All the other housemates i.e lacey frankie ryan sam claire and razor anol were just pushed to the background. Load of sh*te but i do respect your opinion (: |

No.
Majority of series are "dull" when watched out of context 13 years later after the world has significantly changed, no live feed, knowing what happens next, nobody else talking about it. It's kind of why I don't understand people who watch reality shows years after the fact as part of the viewing experience is the "here and now" aspect. It would be like watching BB1 now and saying wow how crap is that. Shouldn't have been popular. Forgetting that BB1 in 2000 was groundbreaking. You have to put each series in the context and time it was made. |
