“Swear Word Alternatives are now banned”

A New Rule has been brought in
So even I must now respect that,

Sign Of The Times

Smithy 22-04-2019 02:27 PM

Why not just put them in the swear filter, that way there’s no grey area and people can be infracted for not knowing certain words aren’t allowed to be used?

Mokka 22-04-2019 02:28 PM

Why is this announcement coming from you... you aren't a moderator/admin

RileyH 22-04-2019 02:29 PM

As long as it's the same rule for everyone I'm fine with that x

Crimson Dynamo 22-04-2019 02:33 PM

Crimson Dynamo 22-04-2019 02:34 PM

Mokka 22-04-2019 02:34 PM

If that word is Feck, it isnt actually related to the word ****, so you can still use it. Weird anyway that admin care about swearing on a forum generally used by adults.

Mitchell 22-04-2019 02:38 PM

Although tbh I don’t actually see the issue with swearing, provided it’s not being nasty about another forum member

Smithy 22-04-2019 02:38 PM

I mean let’s be honest this rule has literally only JUST been enforced because somebody said it in the chat thread last night

It’s dumb

There’s been multiple infractions for people using that word apparently, so it seems as if it isn’t allowed, although undoubtedly we will only find out what we’re not allowed to say when it’s too late.

Fair Enough, thanks for the info Smithy
I was not on that thread.
But I respect what Admin inform me on.
That's why I felt I should make a thread on this section

I am just being honest

The use of obscene or taboo language - or swearing, as it’s more commonly known - is often seen as a sign that the speaker lacks vocabulary, cannot express themselves in a less offensive way, or even lacks intelligence.

Studies have shown, however, that swearing may in fact display a more, rather than less, intelligent use of language.
Are we saying we want people with less intelligence on this site

brat. 22-04-2019 02:45 PM

is there need to ban words other than maybe the c word? like everyone bar possibly 1 or 2 are over 18 and they literally swear in 12+ movies

bots 22-04-2019 02:47 PM

i will go to the foot of our stairs

Withano 22-04-2019 02:48 PM

If they’re not added to the filter it’ll be impossible to keep track of.

Morgan. 22-04-2019 02:51 PM

I don't get why alternatives are such an issue, let alone the actual ones. Are we rebranding to ThisIsCreche.com now??
