How do you pronounce hyperbole?
I am so confused right now. Just heard someone on a show saying
hi-pear-bowl-ee I have always pronounced this hi-per-bowl and it had me not even understanding what the sentence meant at first before I clicked on to what it was. And now the internet tells me that number 1 is correct? Surely not..and surely someone would have pointed this out to me before now if I was mispronouncing quite that much.. |

When I worked at a college, there was a member of the admissions team who used to tell people, "you can either study for a diploma or a sustifikit".
