Brunei says it won't enforce death penalty for gay sex after backlash
https://news.sky.com/story/brunei-sa...klash-11712490
[The Sultan of Brunei has said that his country won't enforce the death penalty for people found to have had gay sex, following widespread outcry. Earlier this year, the new legislation in the tiny, oil-rich monarchy sparked international condemnation, including from celebrities such as George Clooney and Elton John. They called for a boycott on hotels owned by the country's leader, including of the luxurious Dorchester in London and the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA.] The leader has changed his mind. Also the Hotels around the World are not doing well. |
Does the link say what the new punishment will be ?
|
Money talks.
Now the same boycotting should carry on until they join the modern world and stop persecuting people for being gay. |
Well done the people who peacefully protested. And maybe they should continue to protest until they declare being gay NOT A CRIME.
|
If it's still a crime to be gay, the boycott should continue.
