I'm in two minds about this. I loved G & S first time round but am worried that it wouldn't work the same now they are all so much older etc. Would love to be proved wrong but sometimes I think these types of series are left.

Why did they name all the characters after serial killers?

You had Gavin's family, the Shipman's after Harold. Stacey's family, the West's after Fred and Rose. And they went for the full name with the Shipman's friends, the Sutcliffe's by giving the name Pete to the guy.

aha the TL may have worked out why Ruth said nowt yesterday.

It could be that ( and it may be because Ruth has been doing a lot of media for her novel and let slip) James or Ruth were contacted by a media outlet who were going to run a story about it (from a leak) and asked for confirmation. James did not want their thunder stolen so went public earlier than planned...
