Birmingham City Council wins injunction against parents protesting over LGBT lessons

Of course
that extreme Muslim group
claim they will still protest
outside the School Gates

[Protesters who have been gathering
outside a school to demonstrate
against the teaching of same-sex relationships
have been banned from the area
following a court order.
Birmingham City Council was
granted a Temporary High Court injunction
following several weeks of protests
outside Anderton Park Primary School.
The council said it pursued the legal action
after the situation
became "too serious to tolerate".
It cited "increasing fears for
the safety and well-being of the staff,
children and parents of the school
when they come back from their half-term break".

Yup, Shakeel Afsar doesn't have a stake in this at all. It's very likely that he's just manipulating the situation and the parents involved to push his own anti-LGBT agenda and he's just been telling the parents bull**** to stir up trouble. I reckon if this situation goes on beyond the injunction and he is brought into the spotlight, there's going to be a lot of unsavoury stuff revealed about him.

I'm glad this injunction has come into play and I do hope that fines and punishments start going out if they try to pull their children out of class over this again. It is a public school and they cannot use their religion as a shield to push their bigotry and force change on a curriculum because it doesn't suit their religion. Religion is a choice, sexuality is not.

Yes that Leader is the Brother
of a mother who does have kids at the school.
On Fridays Newsnight BBC2HD
he said he will still protest.

I hope they arrest him.

...so awful that he’s using a primary school to try to nurture his extreme prejudices ..and worrying that he’s gained so many like minded voices for the injunction to be necessary...

Shakeel Afsar needs to be arrested. This is not Saudi, he cannot dictate that gay people are not equal members of society and entitled to love whomever they wish. I saw this unutterable knob interviewed on TV and he banged on constantly about how his Roman Catholic friend is outraged about the curriculum and how it clashed with his religion. But I don't see any Roman Catholics making arseholes out of themselves, trying to drag us all back to the middle ages. They hate gays. A large proportion of them slice the clitoris off their own girl children with no aesthetic and sew them up so they can just piss and bleed. Where are all the people who are usually howling about a woman's "right" to wear a burka, and telling us it has nothing to do with the subjugation of women?

While moderate Muslims don't advocate any of this stuff.... they are not the problem.

And before someone says that some Jews hate gays and oppress women... I totally and utterly reject any form of fundamentalism.

Pretty much every religion hates gays though. Shakeel is a ****, these parents are ***** but there's a lot of muslims who don't have issues with muslims. You might not hate the gays, but like with all religions, there will be a lot of jews that do. You have to accept that, while organised religion is ultimately bad, not everyone who follows it is and you can't talk in broad strokes about a religion when every religion has it's fundamentalist nutjobs, Judaism included.

As for the Burkha, Hijabs and the like. If it's the woman's choice to wear it and she isn't in an area in which hoodies or face coverings of any kind are a problem then it's her choice whether she wants to wear it. If it's not a choice then that's the problem but otherwise, I believe women should wear whatever they damn well please.
