Like here in Wales, in terms of Welsh one L is "L" but two L's are like a "th" sound, one F is a "V" sound and two F's is "F".

There's loads more like D/DD, CH, NG etc. Crazy.

I suppose it only seems weird because we're comparing them to English, it's completely normal if they're just languages of their own with their own rules
