When the Queen dies should Charles step aside and let William reign?

Poll coming....

I think he should stand aside. He and Camilla are hardly popular with the general public and William is very loved. It would be the right thing to do imo. But I can't see it happening unfortunately.

They should abolish the monarchy altogether, to be quite honest.

Here for this.

Have a president instead.

Calderyon 10-06-2019 03:29 PM

Abolish the monarchy altogether. Should have been done ages ago.

Cherie 10-06-2019 03:31 PM

I like the Monarchs, and I think Charles should be King, I think the public have softened alot towards Camilla as well

Liam- 10-06-2019 03:31 PM

If Camilla was going to be Queen, then I’d say yeah, he should, but seeing as they’ve confirmed she’ll just be the King’s Consort, then he should take the throne, he’s trained for it so let him have it, he won’t be on there for long anyway

I can see it now, President Tommy Robinson

I'm also anti-monarchy but of the poll choice, Charles should step aside. A "younger" and more progressive Monarchy might actually stand a chance of doing the country some good.

bitontheslide 10-06-2019 03:38 PM

Scrap the monarchy with the tv license, win/win

No Charles wants it.

Charles is a much better guy than William. Done a ton of good for the country, don't see why he should have to step aside unless he wanted to.

You are having a laugh.

Niamh. 10-06-2019 03:44 PM

Poor Charles has been waiting and waiting for his shot on the throne and you're trying to steal it away from him? :o maybe payback for being a **** to Lady Di though

Alf 10-06-2019 03:46 PM

God save the Queen

joeysteele 10-06-2019 04:04 PM

No.
Keep the succession going.
Charles is the next, if he feit he couldn't and wanted to step aside, fair enough.

Wizard. 10-06-2019 04:06 PM

Charles should be King, it's just the way it is, and the Queen wants him to be so her wishes should be respected.

Marsh. 10-06-2019 04:06 PM

The Queen has held on this long for precisely this reason.

She's keeping her bony fingers tight hold of that crown until Charles croaks it, even if it means living to 112.

For the people who say abolish the monarchy do realise that is the main reason for our tourism? Ain't nobody coming to spend a weekend in Skegness

smudgie 10-06-2019 04:26 PM

Charles.
He has trained for it most of his life.
William will get his turn soon enough.

Because Skegness is the second largest tourist attraction behind the monarchy?

Idk much about them but considering they both had affairs I'd have said it was 50/50?

Charles was cheating with Camilla the whole time though. Even when he and Diana were engaged and then it carried on into the marriage. Diana had her affair because she was trapped in a loveless marriage.

I think Diana had mental issues aside from Charles behaviour. She also had multiple affairs. There was the rugby player as well as Hewitt and there may have been more

I would say each was as bad as the other, although i still believe to this day she was murdered.
