I called an ambulance for an old man who collapsed outside my shop last summer. Took them about 10 minutes. :hee:

When I was 15 I called an ambulance because my brother was stabbed outside my parents house and they were there within minutes as well as a ton of police and CID officers, I was literally still on the phone to them and the woman was giving me instructions and trying to calm me down :omgno:

I called an ambulance for my elderly neighbour a few years ago, rapid response was there in 5 minutes, ambulance shortly after

I live in the middle of nowhere so things like ambulances can take a while. It seems like there are mobile paramedics though that are roaming the area, so it tends to be them that get there first and they can be pretty quick to arrive

My mother had a bad accident recently and we phoned for an ambulance and they said the earliest one would be a 2 hour wait so we took her to the hospital ourselves and when we got there, there were five ambulances parked out front all with drivers in them, turns out she could have died if we didn’t take her ourselves right there and then so we weren’t best pleased!

Have had to call a lot of ambulances in my life unfortunately. Honestly, the response times have ranged from about 3 mins, to a ****ing hour! Generally averages about 15 mins here, but we live kind of far out from main hospitals and that, in the middle of a load of fields s obviously it wouldn't be as quick as elsewhere.

We called an ambulance for the old guy my mom looked after a couple of years ago,the ambulance took about 20 mins but seemed like an hour, we had to put him in the recovery position while talking to the telephone assistant, when they came they worked on him for ages, but sadly he died but they were so good with him,we have a wonderful ambulance service

First time was when my Nanna had a heart attack, they were wonderful with her, but frightened her to death.
Second time was when I was in labour with my son, was due at anti natal at half two, my mother took it in her head that I was having contractions every couple of minutes and phoned my doctors surgery for help, telling them I was adamant that I wasn’t in labour and it would be confirmed at anti natal. Anyhow, ambulance was sent for and arrived very swiftly, as did baby, about 2 and a half hours later.

Did she need the ambulance or did she just need sleep

Never called one, but whenever one has been rang for me, it's usually there once I wake up. When I've been conscious however, they usually take forever

Sometimes like 20 minutes (earliest) sometimes FOUR HOURS.

michael21 02-07-2019 11:36 PM

It's not their fault you know
They're overstretched and underfunded
They have to prioritize calls. Not urgent cases take longer

Redway 02-07-2019 11:44 PM

Took about 10 minutes.
