Charging your IPad/Phone

Just wondering how long you all leave your phones/ipads on charge for? Do you wait till 100, do you leave it in all night? Cause im worried mine will go too warm if ah left it in all night?

Matthew. 29-06-2019 06:59 PM

I leave it in all night every night unless above 90% which is probably really irresponsible tbh :worry:

montblanc 29-06-2019 07:00 PM

i charge it all night if i have to get up early for school or something :worry:

but in the summer like this i don't charge my phone during the night (unless i have to get up the next morning to go somewhere)

JerseyWins 29-06-2019 07:04 PM

Yeah I definitely leave it charging past 100% plenty of times... don't seem to see an over-heating issue or anything from it

Some say its not good for the battery to leave your phone on charge for long periods, but it's never caused me any problems

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 29-06-2019 07:21 PM

I read that the battery automatically cuts off from charging when it reaches 100% anyway (or the power it receives is like a tiny trickle compared to when it’s actually charging) so it’s completely safe afaik

Unless i didn’t actually read that and just imagined it icr

i also thought this was the case so there must be some truth to it.

my phone however must be broken or something because lately i’ve been waking up to it being HOT :worry:

I always leave my devices overnight and they never overheat, they’ll only overheat if I’m charging and using at the same time.

Withano 29-06-2019 07:50 PM

Charge it every time im in the car and everytime i go to sleep

yes, that's true, but because it cuts out the charging, the phone then goes into a cycle of losing a little bit of charge and then charging up again, which obviously increments the number of charge cycles on your battery. Which apparently affects the batter longevity

GoldHeart 29-06-2019 08:03 PM

Yeah I leave them plugged in overnight most of the time but the tablets are usually switched off but the phones aren't.

But they also get unplugged a few times,so it's not soo bad

Jessica. 29-06-2019 08:12 PM

I often charge over night, hasn't caused any problems, though I don't have any silly apple devices

Denver 29-06-2019 08:14 PM

I can make a charge last me 3 days

Denver 29-06-2019 08:24 PM

I alter settings to stop the battery draining

smudgie 29-06-2019 09:08 PM

I just pop mine on the charger pad next to my chair.
Charges in no time and the case gets a bit warm.
We Never charge anything overnight.

Gstar 29-06-2019 09:15 PM
