Ear Piercing on Babies/toddlers
This has been brought up in the Circumcision thread a couple of times and I thought it deserved it's own discussion.
so OK or not OK? Personally, I can't believe it's legal. I think maybe 8 up where the child can make their own choice on it is OK, but not on a little baby or toddler who have no interest in being hurt for the sake of their parents vanity |
nawt okay :nono:
|
ew no, ear piercing should only be in the teens
you don't wanna ruin cute little babies with awful ear piercings :( |
It's a no from me
|
Definitely not ok.
|
When i got mine done as a kid,No jewellers would do it unless you were 14 i think it was.
I think that’s a good age. So no to babies for me. It should be down to the kid when they’re old enough. |
Should be banned full stop
|
Don’t like them, not only is it cruel I think, but it looks cheap, it’s not for the babies, it’s for their parents to show off their kids as accessories
|
Shocking practice to please Mothers not the baby, let them decide when they are old enough
|
I’m okay with them. Both my siblings and myself have had ear piercings from when we were younger so never really had a problem with them or had a problem with any other kid having them. None of us cried either according to our mum so I don’t really see the torture aspect of it
|
Its a Fashion.
Shocking as they are too young |
It's my pet hate absolutely hate it.
|
My daughter had hers done at 8 at her own insistence - like I said in the other thread, I can't fathom how it's legal to have it done on kids too young to speak, let alone express a desire to have it done :umm2:.
I mean, I'm pretty sure if I stuck a needle through my kids ear at home when they were a toddler I'd be locked up for assault / abuse? I'm not sure why it's suddenly OK so long as you get it done at Claire's Accessories . |
