Devon girl 'really upset' after Seagull snatches her chihuahua from garden

[A six-year-old girl is "really upset" after a seagull dropped into her garden and made off with her miniature chihuahua in its beak.
The child's mother, Becca Hill, said her partner was putting some washing out in Paignton, Devon, when he suddenly saw the bird "swoop down".
"It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn't see him anymore," she told Devon Live.]

I guess the Bird was Hungry

I hate seagulls. They are constantly swooping down at me at the moment wherever I walk. Con's of living in a seaside town. There are hundreds of them

Ammi 22-07-2019 09:46 AM

...the emotional scarring that poor little girl may have through life.....I’m really, really hoping he’ll be okay and they’ll be reunited...

bitontheslide 22-07-2019 10:20 AM

the seagulls in that area are lethal

Jake. 22-07-2019 10:23 AM

That’s really sad

Nicky91 22-07-2019 11:25 AM

:(

hope for a happy ending to this

We have a chihuahua, how on earth does a seagull get one in its beak ? the dogs are tiny but are they sure it was a seagull ? I hope the little fella is found safe but seems unlikely, wish for a miracle.

Some gulls are huge and they've been known to eat rodents, rabbits and even pigeons whole.

** warning - gull swallowing a rabbit, nothing you wouldn't see in a wildlife doc but I know some people don't like this stuff **

Twosugars 22-07-2019 12:03 PM

They are small dogs, should be protected from predators like rabbits or guinea pigs

That seagull would never **** with my late mastiff :fist:

Gulls have to live too

Weeell... yes, but gulls as they are now aren't exactly "circle of life". Thanks to humans and abundant food waste, there are far more of them than there naturally "should" be, and they're bigger, and getting less timid / more aggressive. After the toy dogs they're coming for us next I reckon :worry:.

Always cover your pecker while on the beach, TS :nono:
Don't want gulls to think it's a fat juicy grub do we

Amy Jade 22-07-2019 12:12 PM

That's so sad I'd be devastated if it were my Cherry

Tom4784 22-07-2019 01:39 PM

I'm confused as to how this is possible. Like if it was a guinea pig or a hamster then sure but I can't imagine a gull carrying off with a dog, even a toy dog breed.

Could you not have a bit of sympathy for the girl’s pet without making unfunny jokes!

They can take
a Rabbit, which is bigger than this small dog

Oh, I feel bad for those dogs. Bred to be tiny regardless of health issues. It should be illegal along with breeding pugs to have squashed noses.

yes I agree with you, these tiny breeds have all kinds of health issues and dont get me started on pugs trying to breath

Breeding dogs to be like that is horrible, they will have countless health issues thoughout their lives.

Also, seagulls are bastards.
