Too hot to sleep.....

Too hot to sleep. Am downstairs listening to Smooth FM. Eating icecream.

Somewhere across the country a handful off late night tibbers are also online. What you all up to this late?

Wish it was here. Its far too quiet. Love a good storm.

LaLaLand 24-07-2019 12:57 AM

Watching "The Mighty Redcar" again on BBC Player with the window flung wide open listening to the huge thunder and torrential rain.

Thankfully the storm seems to have broken the heat a bit, definitely a little cooler at least!

It's been mad rainy (and actually the coolest -or just least hot- its been in like a month) for the past few days over here

Mystic Mock 24-07-2019 01:54 AM

I've mainly just been watching the wildly inconsistent season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

The heat has been atrocious, my poor Cat can't even rest properly because she's feeling so hot.

LaLaLand 24-07-2019 02:43 AM

Storm has passed and it has immediately returned to being as hot as it was earlier. God help me! Melting.

Moniqua 24-07-2019 02:50 AM

no

there is 60% chance that a station in London and the SE (only) will break the record high of 38.5°C recorded in Kent in August 2003

Strictly Jake 24-07-2019 11:36 AM

I managed to sleep thanks to a hell of a lot of gin and tonics before bed but the storm woke me up at 3. Woke up this morning drenched. Yesterday evening I was literally melting it was disgusting. I'm not a summer person I actually hate hot weather

RileyH 24-07-2019 11:38 AM

Omg it was horrendous last night I was laid there for like a solid hour just sweating

Livia 24-07-2019 11:57 AM

I have moaned quite a bit that I can't sleep but the storm didn't wake me last night so maybe I am. Doesn't feel like it though.

Me too.
Well, when I did wake through the night all I heard was the fan cooling the room down.

Meaning fans don't really help that much on hot weather.
