Tibbspeak.

There are some things I hear on tibb that puzzle me. I don't know what they really mean.

What is Tea?
What does Nnn mean?
Why does wig mean yes?
And what is a Snowflake?

Apologies if you think I'm a bit thick

Any others that people don't know but didn't like to ask...go ahead.

reece(: 28-07-2019 02:20 PM

Tea - that's the truth. Sipping the truth tea.. etc
Nnn - a reaction to something that's funny
Wig - a good reaction. Yaaas/ slay/wig etc. "That performance was so good my wig fell off!"
Snowflake is used by anyone when they're losing an argument. Usually as a blanket term for mocking someone's outrage at a sensitive topic.

Thank you Reece. I should have just asked you. :hee:

Oh thank god I’m not the only one here who doesn’t know the TIBB lingo  I think I’ve worked out some of them but I don’t want to use them in the wrong context.

I've always got the pop culture dictionary at hand :fan:

Nicky91 28-07-2019 02:27 PM

Qua, Brat, Milja, Sle also have their own text slang on here

Josy finds that annoying :fan: but i myself can understand that, it's an accent

ah = i or ah'm is I'm

it's english but in a really heavy accent :joker:

Kate! 28-07-2019 02:29 PM

It is annoying Nicky when its written down. Posts should be literate.

Another one I don't know is Oop. Or I oop.

caprimint 28-07-2019 02:30 PM

We use snowflake in a different context (on another forum), as in if somebody on a tv show is your 'snowflake' it just means your ultimate favourite

Dogeatdog 28-07-2019 02:30 PM

What is I-

you should try listening to some of our dutch accents :fan:

Limburgs and Fryslan are hard to understand

my brabants accent is also a bit difficult to understand, we speak with ''soft g'' that's what they say about our accent

and that was a free dutch language lesson from me

Do you mean what does it mean when someone ends mid-sentence with an-?

If so, they're lost for words, basically. Depends on context but usually due to shock/disgust.

Yes that’s what I meant thanks Shaun. I see this one quite often but I had no clue what it meant.

Oop is used to express shock eg “Oop it’s snowing” or something like that. “And I oop” is the same thing, just with “and I” in front of it

JerseyWins 28-07-2019 04:12 PM

I actually like nnnnnn & ffffffff & dddddddd & *keyboard smash*

I use them all, whichever feels right in the situation, and idk what makes each one feel right I just know I use each one in some kind of different situations lol (like I think I uuusually lean towards nnnnn when it's more on the ****ed up side of funny :joker:)

I think I like it because it feels kinda real-life esque as well. Like I'll make an fff sound or some other random sound when something's funny but not enough to all-out laugh about.
