Adults who eat child meals at restaurants

Anyone else get bugged by this? Like they have children meals then get hungry later on so what is the whole point?

Why is it anyone’s business if they want a kids meal :suspect:

Because they are for children not adults, one restaurant by me rightly bans adults ordering them without children

Mystic Mock 15-08-2019 04:33 PM

It doesn't really bother me what other people eat at a Restaurant tbh.

Some people have small appetites though.

I had a Nandinos meal at Nando's because I wasn't that hungry at the time and it was the perfect amount. I didn't even realise it was a kids meal until one of my friends told me

Ammi 15-08-2019 05:06 PM

...I have sometimes ordered a child meal eeeek.....(..I don’t get hungry later on though, it’s enough for me..)...because I find it hard to cope with many adult size meals when eating out and I find wasting food, quite upsetting...sometimes though I do feel awkward about asking for a child meal...

Ammi 15-08-2019 05:07 PM

...some of us just can’t cope with larger meals, Adam...is the thing...

Josy 15-08-2019 05:07 PM

No I dont care what anyone else chooses to do as it's none of my business

Liam- 15-08-2019 05:10 PM

I don’t tend to have feelings on other people’s eating habits

Kazanne 15-08-2019 05:11 PM

I find childrens meals are pretty filling ,sometimes the adult portions are far too big and better to eat a smaller one than waste a big one,I often have the childrens portion, I only have small plate at home aswell.

I thought you wanted to stop obesity?

Amy Jade 15-08-2019 05:14 PM

I order kids menu all the time, I find the bigger portions are too much for me.

sleleen 15-08-2019 05:14 PM

Not someone who cares or looks over at what someone else gets so no?

Ammi 15-08-2019 05:15 PM

...there are a few eating places which offer ‘half meals’ now because I think it’s more being realised that some portions are quite huge for some...those are perfect as I prefer to not have to order from the children’s menu...which can be quite restrictive...

Kate! 15-08-2019 05:17 PM

There is a pub in town which does a small plates menu. That is useful.

thesheriff443 15-08-2019 05:18 PM

Lots of places don’t allow it, they want full price meals my sister has had a row before over my daughter who is 24 looks and acts much younger as she has autism she also has a rare metabolic condition so she is very hard to feed when out.

I Eat a kids ice cream deserts one place as I have tryed the adult ones twice and left over half.

I don’t really see why it matters? Not something I would do myself but if you want to do it then go ahead, whatever floats your boat

Dogeatdog 15-08-2019 07:26 PM

It’s something that’s never really bothered me tbh. I always hate seeing food get wasted as well so I’d rather someone order from a children’s menu knowing that will be enough instead of ordering an adult sized portion and throwing most of it away.

same, nothing worse that seeing people overload their plates at buffets and then leave it uneaten

My niece who is recovering from an eating disorder finds big portions very off putting, so better to have a small portion that is eaten

If I go to a restaurant with the family and there is food left over, we normally take one of those small food tubs and just scrape the leftovers into it, to give to the foxes when we get home. We hate seeing food go to waste.

I hope your niece is doing well in her recovery Cherie

Rightly? How so?

They are still getting paid for the same meal they would've served to a child anyway. I don't see the issue. Very petty imo.
