PS5 or Xbox 2?

Both are rumoured to be released next year but which one will be you get?

PS5 for ne as I have never been a huge Xbox fan

I’ll probably go for a PS5 for the same reason as you Skeng. I had an Xbox 360 before and wasn’t a big fan of it (I ended up selling it and buying a PS3) so I’ll probably just stick with PlayStation now.

PS5 but no way next year, I don't have the funds like that to splash out on a new console. Probably 2021+ and I'll just stick with my PS4 for now. :joker:

So weird, I remember when PS2 was announced and it blew me and my friends' minds, I distinctly remember one saying "Imagine the graphics on like a Playstation 5!?" - well, we'll soon find out!

Apparently it will be 8k and more then double the processing system of the PS4

Tbh I think the Xbox 360 was the only generation I'd have considered Microsoft

I've not got a PS4 or Xbox One but I'd have definitely got a PS4 and I'd probably get a PS5

Barry. 19-08-2019 10:33 PM

PS5 when I can afford it.

Scarlett. 19-08-2019 11:49 PM

PS5, they just have more interesting games

Mystic Mock 20-08-2019 02:31 AM

I'll be keeping an open mind for either one but I've been a PS fanboy since PS1

I think home consoles (except for the switch that has got it right) on a whole are gonna end up as a dead franchise, both the new ones are or were rumoured to be >£800 - especially the Xbox and I think people aren’t gonna put up with it anymore especially since you could build a much powerful PC for that money and there’s stuff like Stadia coming along too

Scarlett. 20-08-2019 11:30 AM

I can't see them costing £800, Sony made the mistake of pricing the PS3 too high and they fell behind for a generation, I can't see them doing that again. Consoles are still far too popular to disappear. Also Stadia is a horrible idea that wont work properly for 90% of people and will eventually be quietly dumped.

T* 20-08-2019 12:03 PM

I think it’s more Xbox that’s stupid enough to price it too high but we’ll just have to see, Stadia is a good insight to what the future of gaming will probably be like - it’ll be interesting to see what happens regardless

Nicky91 20-08-2019 12:42 PM

neither i will just stick with my PS3

user104658 20-08-2019 07:38 PM

I've had every PlayStation since the OG PSX so obviously PS5 :joker:. I'm not convinced a 2020 release is likely though. Very late 2020 if at all.

There's no way they'll launch at over £599, and my guess would be £450 - £499 to be honest. They'll sell at break-even if they have to. I also don't think the console market is even close to dead anyway, as the draw for most people is convenience rather than price. I'm also a lifelong PC gamer and will continue to be, my cirrent PC is lightyears beyond PS4, but I still play a fairly significant amount of PS4, and not just exclusives either.

Never played on either

I think a PS2 was the last games console I played on.

I tell a lie, a few years ago my mate gave me his old Xbox, and I played a game called Fallout New Vegas. And that's the last time I remember playing a video game.
