Found Dead Set in full on YouTube

Anyone else ever watched this? Today was my first time viewing it after being recommended to me several times and it was a really gripping watch from start to finish that I would suggest to anyone . A bit slow at first but once it hits the ground running, you'll be hooked. I watched the episodic versions but there's also a feature-length version too. It's basically Big Brother with a horror twist to it, and a real recreation of how the show is. A few of the housemates may even remind you of already existing ones, and real ones appear as well. If you get the chance, it's really worth checking out if you haven't already.

I seen this a number of years ago, its fantastic! Dark and very depressing but very realistic approach to what an apocalyptic world would be. Im glad you liked it epic!!

I tried to get my friend into it and he switched off after the first episode and tried telling him it gets better he didnt want to hear it.

Saw it when it was on E4. Really good and it had good characters too.

Great show. The producer character ruins it a bit though.

sleleen 20-08-2019 07:11 PM

Yeah the producer is just unessesary and disgusting

Epic. 20-08-2019 07:18 PM

I can see why the producer (Patrick) might annoy people but I personally thought he was a great experiment of showing how a corrupt, egotistical person in a high position of power would react to an apocalypse and it made for pretty accurate viewing.

Spot on!

I kinda see your point but he was just too obnoxious for me, he was less a character and more a cartoon of sorts, they could have given him a much better arc or even killed him off sooner and let other characters develop more.

The chavvy couple were much better conveyed, at first they're gross and literally Dale and Jen types but the script given them both layers and they became likeable. Patrick was just full on annoying every single scene and he killed some scenes that could have been great.

It's on Netflix sis!

One of my fave thriller/horrors <3 Charlie Brooker is so good

I found out online they were actually based on Maxwell and Saskia, probably a better version of them too :laugh2:

Pippa was loosely based on Helen Adams, Space loosely based on Science, and Grayson based on Kemal.

Ah yes I'm gonna start watching this tomorrow I loved it years ago the first time around

Strictly Jake 20-08-2019 08:53 PM

I remember on one of the first episodes a zombie Brian beko runs through a corridor. Lmao

I think Brooker used S6 as the basis for most of his characters:

Space- Science
Grayson- Kemal
Marky- Maxwell

When I looked it up I actually found out he started the making of it during BB6's airing and wrote his first draft while it aired. That series might have also helped him construct what the chaotic nature of Dead Set would be .

It’s funny too because Brooker slated BB6/it’s characters, but then I guess that those types of personalities fit a show like Dead Set well.
