Circle Question

Can they access the chat software at any time during the day, or are there allotted timeslots?

Saph 14-10-2019 07:14 PM

I think they have certain allotted times because whenever someone wants to chat, the other player always seems really surprised to have the invite.

but idrk I wish they would explain it because I always wonder what they do all day

Saph 14-10-2019 07:15 PM

and also if they could chat all day, I feel like with nothing else to do, they probably would all just chat all day, which they don't seem to do

if that makes sense?

I watched a Q&A that Alex (aka Kate) from last series did, and he said that the players only get an allotted number of chats per day, so they have to make the chats that they do have as thorough as possible

I watched a behind the scenes video from last year’s winner yesterday, and he said you’re restricted to a certain number of conversations a day

Also the system shuts down overnight, which is why you never see players having secret chats in the dark

From what Alex from series 1 has been saying, it seems very much like the contestants are limited to the amount and length of chats they have each day.

Producers want every conversation to be shown on screen, so the contestants are limited to when they interact so they they don’t run out of time to show everything.

I think there's still some conversations we don't see , probably a bit like BB with the editing. They show us what they think is interesting but that's debatable

Players have all said that as far as they remember all their conversations have been shown.

You have to remember all they do in day is pretty much one private chat, one circle chat, and an evening game. Occasionally a rating, blocking or date too.

Did I read or hear somewhere that during the "off times" they get to hang out with handlers, and play board/card games, and just chat etc, as long as they don't try to ask about the other housemates?

I don’t think they do. They only see handlers when moving location.

Alex talks about downtime and chats in this video.

They get checked on by members of the production team to see if they're ok , and the players can ask for a chat with a therapist if they're feeling anxious etc.
